Jeter gives autograph swag to one-night stands

Not so classy, captain!

Yankees star Derek Jeter, one of New York’s most eligible hunks since his split with longtime gal pal Minka Kelly, is bedding a bevy of beauties in his Trump World Tower bachelor pad — and then coldly sending them home alone with gift baskets of autographed memorabilia.

The Yankees captain’s wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am kiss-offs came to light when he mistakenly pulled the stunt twice on the same woman — forgetting she had been an earlier conquest, a pal told The Post.

“Derek has girls stay with him at his apartment in New York, and then he gets them a car to take them home the next day. Waiting in his car is a gift basket containing signed Jeter memorabilia, usually a signed baseball,” the friend dished.

“This summer, he ended up hooking up with a girl who he had hooked up with once before, but Jeter seemed to have forgotten about the first time and gave her the same identical parting gift, a gift basket with a signed Derek Jeter baseball,” the pal said.

“He basically gave her the same gift twice because he’d forgotten hooking up with her the first time!”

Jeter, who fiercely guards his privacy to protect his All-American image and multimillion-dollar marketability, split with the gorgeous actress Kelly this summer and has been playing the field ever since.

Jeter isn’t a boy and the people he’s dating aren’t girls. These are adults, and if their lifestyle turns out to be degrading they have only themselves to blame. I honestly can’t work up a lot of pity for people on either side whose lives are poisoned by celebrity. Possibly giving a woman you’ve slept with an autographed baseball makes sense in whatever context they’re inhabiting, but I sincerely thank God I’m not.

I used to love to listen to Ole Diz and Peewee do the games. I can still hear Diz say “I believe I’ll have me another Falstaff Peewee”. He was probably pretty hammered by the seventh inning stretch.

In my mind I picture a TV game show set with some “Barker’s Beauty” type giving the women a “lovely parting gift” as they are shown to the door. “Thanks for playing Jump The Jeter”

LOL, from stories I've read, he was.
His first partner before PeeWee was Buddy Blattner.
Blattner left because he said old Diz was hard to work with when he got *All twisted off* :^)

What’s really creepy is that he has a tape of Bob Sheppard introduce him just before he enters the bedroom:

“Your attention please (please)...
Now batting (batting)..
The shortstop (shortstop)...
Derek Jeter (Jeter)...
Number Two (Two)...”

Jeter appears to be a busy guy.

Or it could be just the imaginings of the "source" or the reporter.

At least guys like Joe DiMaggio and Sandy Koufax knew when to quit while on top. We are seeing the problem with paying long-term, multi-year multi-million contracts to these guys.

You apparently missed his .327/.383/.428/.811 performance in the 2nd half last year. A little swing tweaking straightened him out. By comparison the superstar Jose Reyes hit .305/.356/.428/.784 over the same period.

Why do people continue to care what other grown-ups do behind closed doors?

I read your profile and see that you consider yourself a Christian and you can seriously ask that question. WOW! I'm dumbfounded. Jeter could care less about these women. They are mere objects to him and not human beings. Would you have the same mindset if your wife or daughter hooked up with Jeter. Women are merely notches in his belt. I'm baffled that as a Christian your first response would not be to pray for these women and Derek Jeter. If most Nazarene's espouse this mindset, then I will never grace the doors of a Nazarene church. If you truly pray for God's grieving heart within you, then this story should drive you to your knees in prayer.

I think some guys are just jealous because wherever Jeter goes women walk around with mattresses strapped to their backs.

Well there was a time when the church played a larger role in our societies. That was not a bad thing. In a nation like ours however, you do not have to belong to any faith and should therefore not have to modify your behavior in order to not offend a religious person that you do not even know.

We have no right to not be offended in this nation, especially when we are sticking our noses into someone elses private life as long as they are harming no one else.

I am glad you read my profile. I sometimes wonder if that ever happens.

Do you believe that there exists in this nation a right to not be offended? If so do you believe that Jeter is violation your rights?

Do you believe that he is kidnapping these helpless waifs off the streets and forcibly raping them? Because I am reading about loose women and a loose man acting upon a mutually agreed activity.

Seems to me that some of these women wanted more than to be treated like facial tissue. Perhaps they should not have behaved like facial tissue? Maybe, just maybe one or two of them will have learned that the way to attract a real man that will be there for you “after” is to keep their legs shut until there is a ring on their finger.

If my wife hooked up with Jeter I would divorce her because that would be adultery. If my daughter did it, I’d tell her she is acting like a whore.

I did not anywhere in my post state that I would not be praying for any of these people. For the women, I’ll pray for wisdom. For Jeter, a heart. This is however not the worst story in the news these days. Not by a long shot.

Sounds like the women were participants on a TV game show:

“Thanks for playing our game, and we have some lovely parting gifts for you”.

If they were promised nothig else, and not force to appear on said game show; I fail to see a legal problem here....a moral one? Sure, but until we get the morals police that so many appear to pine for, they have no recourse.

I dont understand why he sends them home. Just let them hang around till they get pissed at the next girl, then pay their own damn way home.

They must not have a problem with it, this info supposedly comes from a “pal” of Jeter’s, not anyone who has had a parting guilt basket cruelly inflicted upon them.

I appreciate your response to my post. Forgive me if I sounded too harsh. Do we have a right “not to be offended?” Of course we do, but the inhabitants of Judah whom Jeremiah prophesied against had that same right not to be offended by the sin that was so prevalant then. I almost see a parallel between our Great Nation today and the Judah of Jeremiah’s judgment prophesy. And you know what, Grunthor, God even sent the righteous of Judah into captivity. As the church we have become apathetic to the sin condition which has deluged our country. When I think of Godly men like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego forced into captivity, it causes me to reflect on the Godly in our nation. We really need to repent as a nation today. I believe there are modern day Jeremiahs heralding the warning of impending judgment upon the USA and we refuse to take heed. Just food for though, Grunthor. May God richly bless you and your family. Sorry I was so harsh in my first post.

“We have no right to not be offended in this nation, especially when we are sticking our noses into someone elses private life as long as they are harming no one else.”

That sounds like a standard libertarian fantasy having little connection with American history. Bernard Bailyn is perhaps the foremost scholar on America’s founding era. According to Bailyn the most cited text by the American founders and the First Congress was Deuteronomy. That particular book is full of commands for proper conduct and just about zero advocacy of radical individualism.

America was an overwhelmingly Protestant society that took its legal ideas from the bible and English common law. The law and culture of the country were rooted in the Christian ethos that permeated both of those sources, not in the radical individualism of the likes of Thomas Paine.

The idea that law should have little or no connection with religion wasn’t an American conceit, but it was one for Revolutionary France. So much so that it won the allegiance of Thomas Paine, who foolishly abandoned America for the paradise of the goddess Reason and her guillotine.
