Nathan Lane had a smash on Broadway a few years ago with this play.

Thanks for the post, Homer. Never liked Wolley. Always struck me as being very much like the odious character he portrayed in this movie. Self-absorbed, boorish in real life, he was notorious among associates for his acerbic comments.

I love this movie. I just found out that Durante’s Banjo character was inspired by Harpo Marx—and Harpo actually showed up on occasion in the stage version.

Downloaded the movie and just watched it - What a treat...Hilarius.

Also dl'd The Shang Hai Gesture and watched that one.

Wife couldn't believe it was shot on a stage in Hollywood.
