I made the Clear Channel connection weeks ago when Perry’s name was intentionally never spoken by Rush or Hannity or Levin. The worst hosts were Billy Cunningham and NitWit Todd Schnitt. They disrespected Governor Perry in the most vile manner. I think the Pretend Patriot Pied Piper, Glenn Beck, was the first to begin an assault on Perry all the while announcing how he couldn’t wait to move to Texas. All Clear Channel. I turned Beck off and have never listened to him again so I don’t know what the gentleman is peddling now. I’ve been extremely edgy as I listened to Rush because the Ross Perot parallel is extraordinary. Way back when Rush got summoned to the White House. Rush peddling Tea. Levin peddling books. Beck peddling books and an internet tv stationI. Hannity peddling concerts. I’m. sick to death of the so-called “patriots-on-radio” who never put a uniform on but disrespect a candidate who did (and that includes Ron Paul). It’s all becoming crystal Clear Channel. Follow the money. Rush, et tu?

So much for what he thinks. As far as Rush goes, anything I have purchased from him, I received.

I don’t want to burst your bubble, but if anyone believes that Rush is basing his “opinion” on what Clear Channel thinks has no idea how the radio business works. It’s more likely. That Rush tells THEM what to say. He makes them more money than any chain of stations CC owns.

And you it pretty clear that no one “sits Rush down” and tells him what to think.

He could walk away, smoke cigars, and play golf without looking back. And CC stock would drop like a rock.

THAT is the reality.

LOL

I never miss Rush Limbaugh or Mark Levin—I listen live or catch their programs via podcast.

Rush and Mark are constantly harassed by both Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, AND Ron Paul supporters for NOT bragging or bragging enough about their guys.
Both obviously favor Rick Perry and Rick Santorum-the two REAL conservatives in the race...

...silly premise thread.

It's not. I listen to Rush every day and many, many times he has said that Romney is "not conservative enough". He has, however, picked at the faults that all of the candidates have. He has said that if Romney were to get the nomination, conservatives need to continue to push him to the right. Rush, like most conservatives, wanted to see Marco Rubio run for President.

True. And if Clear Channel lost Rush, Mark, and Sean what would happen to the company's earnings? The company is far more motivated not to screw with them than it is to tell them what to say because a company Romney used to be a part of owns stock in Clear Channel which owns Premier Radio Networks which syndicates Rush, Sean, and Mark, among others.

I don’t think Rush is “owned” by anybody, he has a large enough nest-egg to do whatever he wishes. That is why I’m pissed that he is sitting back while Mitt builds momentum and Rush is even helping him out. I know that Rush risks alientating some of his audience by picking one candidate over another, but he readily reams Paul so why can’t he ream Mitt who would be just as awful as a Pres. Paul.

“Haven’t you heard, if you don’t hate Romney enough, you’re working for him.”

Rush doesn’t hate Romney, he defends, protects, and promots him everday on his show and his website.

Rush is smart enough to compare and contrast the rheoric of Newt and Romney and their leadership experience.

Romney talks a conservative game but he has and does lead from the extreme left just as Obama does. Both he and Obama are marxist. LOOK AT THEIR RECORDS. Their voting records are the same, their rhetoric is the same.

Compare and contrast that with Newt. Sure Newt has said some dumb and silly things, some of the things he has said are dumb are indefensible. But look at the man’s RECORD. He, at times, flirts with the left but HIS LEADERSHIP AND VOTING RECORD have always been from the right.

“This crap reminds me of the left’s claim about the tea partiers all being paid by the Koch brothers”

Their is ONE BIG DIFFERENCE. The tea party was paid by NO ONE but Rush, Hannity, Ingram, and others are all paid by Baian Captial.

One is TRUTHS THE OTHER IS RHETORIC. There is a difference.

Idiot! Rush has not been pimping Romney in any way. He has been defending him from these insane attacks from Newt and Perry over Bain, as any conservative should be doing.

Rush has remained neutral in this primary, but if any bias has occurred at all, it has been to be critical of Mitt. Rush has criticized Mitt more than any other candidate, so stop telling lies. It is you who lacks any credibility. I know, because unlike you, I have been listening to Rush.

Rush is a Clear Channel partner. He owns the controling interest in his own program, which is why every liberal effort to have him “fired” is doomed to failure.
Neither Romney or Clear Channel are telling Rush what to think or say.
Furthermore Rush had many favorable things to say about Perry before Perry entered the race.
I think Rush was sincerely upset with Newt last week for a reason, he doesn’t want to see him fail.

His website has been NOTHING BUT PRO ROMNY PROPAGANDA. You can believe as u wish, that’s Ameria but his website speaks for itself.

I challenge all to go see the garbage Rush had been putting up on that website lately. Pure propaganda and pure garbage. As it said, he’D make PRAVDA PROUD.

Btw, been listening to Rush since 89 and have bought almost all of his books. I was one of his first and biggest supporters.

“It’s not.”

It’s not entirely unreasonable and may have nothing to do with Romney yet. Rush was totally enthused by Ross Perot until he got called to the White House by President George H.W. Bush. Two days later, he was pushing Bush and started implying that one of the greatest captains of industry, and supporters of our military, was a kook. He never passed up an opportunity to belittle Ross Perot. We grow kooks in Texas, don’tchaknow? Perot, GW Bush, Perry, Paul.
Rush began omitting Governor Perry’s name from the “list” of candidates weeks ago. Not omitting him from contenders. Omitting him from Candidates. Levin was questioned about the very same thing last week and he meekly stated if Perry would rise above 1% in any poll, he would mention him. Who the ell is he? Not mention a candidate who is a veteran, a sitting governor, head of the Republican Governors Association???? Does he think we don’t get it? It was Levin pushing Santorum. WHo Rush is pushing will be evident shortly since the king speaks last. You listen to all the other talk show hosts and it becomes clear for months. The rant by Hannity against Perry and Newt last week was insane. I thought he was going to pass out. Git er done, Hannity. Good boy. Perry against free enterprise??? From the state with the 13th largest economy in the world? Hannity shrunk in intellectual stature (if he had any) when he began that Clear Channel rant. Newt against free enterprise? Give me a break, Rush. Get real. Oh, yeah, and pick the Broncos, “Trust me.”
I remember the first day I ever heard Rush in 1989 and have listened ever since. I listened as he evolved. I was upset when he succumbed to White House suggestions. I’m upset with him now. Marco Rubio cannot run for president until the Supreme Court defines Natural Born Citizen. Rush knows that. Rush was extremely high on Governor Jindal and it’s the same situation. By the way, Jindal endorsed Perry.

LOL. It is truly silly season. For the record, from a post by C. Edmund Wright on Friday ....

A: Rush could name his price to move to satellite tomorrow - something he has been begged to do for a couple of years.

B: Rush has more money than he will ever spend as it is now, and would never change his editorial bent for anyone for any reason because, well, he doesn’t have to. (new wife notwithstanding....)

C: If Rush and CC divorced tomorrow, Rush retires for a few days or weeks maybe with zillions in the bank. Or maybe retires. BUT - CC has a bunch of suddenly worthless radio properties, many with liens on them. Moreover, the Premiere Radio Network division loses a huge chunk if its revenue and leverage over night.

No, CC clearly needs Rush more.

What a load of garbage. You people who are saying these things are demented. I listen to Rush every single day and, if anything, he is more critical of Mitt Romney than any other candidate other than Obama.

You're right about one thing, Rush doesn't "hate" Romney; he doesn't hate Obama either. Rush doesn't "hate" people. No real conservative "hates" anyone; they may hate policies and statements people make, but hating someone because of politics is insane, unChristian, and stupid.

Rush simply tells the truth and sometimes people like you can't handle the truth. The truth is these Bain Capital attacks are the antithesis of true conservatism. They are populist drivel and more like what I would expect out of Obama than Newt or Perry.
"Their is ONE BIG DIFFERENCE. The tea party was paid by NO ONE but Rush, Hannity, Ingram, and others are all paid by Baian Captial."
Wrong! Rush, Hannity, Ingram and others are NOT "paid by Baian Captial" [sic], they are paid by their SPONSORS. Your "TRUTHS" [sic] is not truth at all.

Time will tell. Romney isn’t gaining much ground in the South.

Conservatives are definitely spliting the vote but its up to them to decide what to do. Newt, Santorum, Perry, and Paul have a decision to make. They work out a deal or Romney is clearly gonna be the nominee.

Its all about egos at this point.

More crap from the demented. Rush has not been "lightly and with kid gloves" going after Mitt, he has savaged him. He hasn't even come close to attacking Newt, Perry, or Santorum with the same level of criticism as he has directed towards Mitt. If you were in the least bit objective, you would be aware of that, but you are so filled with hatred that you have lost any objective.

You sound like some libtard over at DU, anything positive said about Mitt is "glowing praise and glorification," and anything slightly negative said about Newt is "brutal, savage attack." It's absurd and strikes at your credibility. In fact it's laughable that you make these absurd assertions. I listen to Rush everyday. I know what the truth is and the truth isn't in you.

Uh, yeah, I see what you mean.

Romney opens 21-point lead in South Carolina: Reuters/Ipsos poll

Newt's Bain Capital attacks have killed him and his campaign. In tonight's Huckabee forum, held before 600 uncommitted Republican voters, Newt gets booed by the crowd for his Bain attacks.

That's what happens when a conservative attacks conservative principles.

Thanks to Newt and Perry's attacks on Bain, we are going to be stuck with Mitt Romneycare. I've never seen a more perfect example of a candidate self-destructing during a campaign.
