Internet Addiction Shows Up In the Brain

Theres been a lot of controversy over the concept of Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD), especially as the new DSM-V prepares to launch. Some feel that theres little evidence to warrant IAD as being recognized as an actual disorder. But others do. Earlier research has found some changes in the brain of people who are hooked on the Web, and a new study shows reductions in volume of certain areas of the brain and in its the white matter the highways of connection between brain cells of young people who are addicted to the Internet. Whats interesting is that these brain changes mirror the ones in people who are addicted to other kinds of things, like heroin, for example.

I think what does show up is memory problems. We’re processing sooooo much that we can’t download it all during sleep and so we have to plow through old data to get to “where we are”.
And to make sure our children get addicted, we put them in schools beginning in kindergarten.
Churning out brain-damaged drones. Easy for a big brother to control them.
The study was done by the Chinese on a control group of about 30 people.
A study that isn’t even worthy of mention because its agenda is so obvious.
This is just BS — the Internet is NOT ADDICTIVE!!! Sure, I’m been on it every single day as far back as I can remember, lo these fifteen years, but I can quit any time I want. ;’)
