WTH are Drudge and Beck trying to achieve? (vanity)
Vanity | 1/24/2012 | tatown

The attacks by both Drudge and Beck on Newt are about as vicious as I've ever seen by either of them even on Obama. I turned off Beck some time ago due to his extreme doomer act and I'm starting to get to the point where I avoid Drudge as well. I understand that they might not be Newt fans but the force of their hatred toward him is stunning.

Drudge is so in the tank for Romney it's bizarre.

I picked up way back when Perry was the front runner.

Beck has gone off the deep end, he railed against ObamaCare and embraces Romney and RomneyCare.
I’m done with Beck.

Well there may well be something ugly in Newt's past..but why is she the only one who knows it?

So...was Newt born in a different country? Is he a communist? Did he snort coke whenever he could? Have sex with a guy? Lie under oath? Do an intern while on the job? Hang out with enemies of this country? Profit from information he learned because of his office? Hide evidence right after one of your staff allegedly committed suicide? Refuse subpoenas?

I mean, what does it take these days to prevent someone from being POTUS?

Both Beck and Romney are morons. They also happen to both be mormons.

As for Drudge, Romney supports “alternative” lifestyles. That gets him support from both Drudge and Coulter.

Pelosi is bluffing because she doesn’t want Newt. She knows Newt can defend Conservatism, and sympathetically, America.

You will be hard pressed to find either Drudge or Beck trash Romney yet they both act as Newt is worse than Obama. Bizarre to say the least.

That was my impression as well. Frankly I’m puzzled by the pungent vitriol that beck, coulter, krauthammer, hume, etc are showing. These are allegedly pundits who would ordinarily call for us to rally around our candidate once he is selected but how can we do that when they have so effectively poisoned the well?

Assholes all of them.

There is a story out there that is making the rounds of all the internet sites, that Newt Gingrich was somehow responsible for outing Britt Hume’s son and causing his suicide in retaliation for an anti-Newt article that the son had written.

We always heard the story that it was that group of Gays who made it their business to out gay Republicans, but that doesn’t mean that it wasn’t Newt who tipped them off.

One would think that those persons you mentioned, who seek to gain the confidence of the audience to value their opinions, would take care not to allow their inner demons to color their judgement.

Only one charge stuck and that was because his lawyer screwed up.

Sorry, but that doesn't sit right with me. A completely clean person doesn't resign in disgrace just because some lawyer screwed up. Something more is going on here.

The problem is that we basically have no alternative at this point. Gotta go with Newt, and hope that nothing much more comes out.

Most of us have come to the understanding that Newt is the best we can get this time, but his bagage is stacked a mile high. Many good people won’t be able to accept Newt and that’s just part of the package we get with Newt. It wasn’t all that long ago that people wondered if Reagan could win with his having been divorced. Sometimes it seems like we’re surounded by Clinton supporters the way character doesn’t seem to matter anymore.

So nobody is allowed to question Newt Gingrich, is that right?

Beck is a Mormon and Drudge is a South Beach queer.

Next question?

The resignation had to do with the loss of seats in Congress, not with alleged ethics violations 2 yrs previously. That’s why the resignation occured AFTER the election and not two years earlier. That’s according to Krauhammer who is not a Newt fan.

No. All charges were dropped. What the lawyer screwed up was that Gingrich had to pay for his own witch hunt.

Ethics Committee Drops Last of 84 Charges Against Gingrich

The speaker's office issued a statement noting that yesterday's dismissal of the last three charges means that 83 of the 84 ethics allegations filed by Democrats have been dropped.

The 84th was the IRS allegation and it too was dropped.

Beck wears whatever beard is the flavor of the week, who isn't a threat to Mitt, Gingrich is, and Beck devotes himself to stopping that threat.

After dismissing Palin back when she was a real threat, Beck said this.

"I have to tell you that Mitt Romney could be the only guy that could win, and I don’t know if he could because I think that Americans are going to be I mean, this country is going to be in deep trouble by 2012, and the next term, if it’s not decided this term, the next term will decide our fate. Then I hope that Americans are ready for an adult and are ready for hard news."

Good post, the Gingrich people go bananas on anyone who doesn’t love him. Heck I will vote for him over Romney , he is the best fiscal conservative candidate we have, but I hardly call him ideal. The guys has plenty of skeletons, and is thin skinned, he has his moments when he wants the love of the libs and the media. Right now he is going to other way since he knows that’s Romneys crowd and he is the conservative choice. Bottom line, he has earned a lot of the scrutiny he is taking, he better be able to handle it without whining but by being on point because it is only going to become worse if he gets the nomination!
