Drudge is now an Official RINO (Republican in Name Only) or is now a mainstream Republican.
Me just an observation | 2/21/2012 | Me

Posted on 02/21/2012 2:21:26 PM PST by DebraAI

I noticed that Drudge is doing his best to continuously paint Santorum as a religious nut. Over and over if you notice Drudge's headlines will show over and over what other people say, mistakes other people make and he purposely highlights any comment made even if remotely connected, that Santorum makes or has made even in a Church.

Why does Drudge want Romney so bad he is really pissing me off. Here is a site that I used to love and found this site through it long ago. It is like he and Coulter just lost their minds or were paid off by Romney.

That is how Romney got the governor or South Carolina even though the state chose Gingrich.

Now Santorum is the big threat so a pattern is easily seen if you use Drudge daily. He tries to only show slightly negatives towards Romney, and even those are light negatives now that would make you laugh.

Gingrich he let up on as he is no longer a threat (at the moment) to Romney.

So now the threat is Santorum and Drudge is doing his best to use the MSM biased media to attack Santorum.

I am getting sick of Drudge more and more and now looking for an alternative news source , to what Drudge used to be which is an alternative collection of news.

I get this horrible feeling deep down that all of the NWO people are right. it is like we have to get Romney in or else the Federal Reserve will be upset. Or Coulter will have another fit like the recent one on o'Reilly that would make any conservative laugh. That's how erratic she was when Gingrich looked to take Florida.

Well Drudge and the MSM did a number on Gingrich. Even the impossible, made him look like an insider shill.

Now - Santorum is some loon right wing nut but every interview I see on him shows the reverse.

I'm getting scared. Really thinking we are already in a dictatorship and being played and Romney will be the nominee and Soros is right, there is no difference between he and Obama. Which leads me back to the bankers and the Federal Reserve.

Can Paul be right on it all?

if Paul wasn't such an isolationist on the foreign scene he might be president even now. But think of this - when Paul was about to win Iowa anyone else notice how all radio stations and websites, including Drudge then like a chorus called him some racist due to some other person who wrote articles on some pamphlets years ago?

Something is very fishy and as a news junkie who watches all, something scary is going on and I do not like it. Anyone with me on this - only those who watch closely see the chorus, the MSM chorus I call it but it is really an establishment chorus that does not want Gingrich or Santorum in.

Hmmmm.

Better now than later. rick has time to recover. Newt recovered after hits, Romney recovered after the Bain hits... It is better it resurfaces now than late October.

Welcome to the club. Newt had to go through this. Now it is Santorum’s turn. Rush says Saintorum will have to answer this Exorcist stuff.

If I published a newsletter, under my name, and I had someone else write articles for it, under my name, and those articles were racist in nature, it would not be unfair to call me a racist.

My question to you is: why give Drudge Reports the hits?

Or are you doing it as a public service to keep us informed?

He is reporting the news - he is reporting what is known to the opposition. You are burying your head in the sand and assume that what Drudge is reporting is bad. He is acknowledging what the opposition is going to use against him.

People like you are completely irrational. Drudge doesn't need your page views. The fact is Santorum's statements are correct and his statements about mainstream Protestantism is also correct. Normally, potential candidates aren't so blunt, but Santorum is blunt and it is refreshing.

Having said that, Santorum will need to defend his statements and they will try to paint him as a kook. So, now we will see if he can defend himself. I think he'll do a good job, too.

However, unlike you, I have confidence in Santorum and his ability to defend himself and his statements.

I like the variety of links he has on his site. it is only recently after his attacks on Gingrich started that I began to think of not visiting.

the format of links is useful to me and if I can find a site that does the same I would switch.

I love this site but the variety of news and links is not equal. Maybe Jim can put up some test page where he creates his own Drudge type of site. I would use it!

I think Rush, Hannity and Levin all get their talking points from the Drudge Report. I too have stopped going there. I hope his number of hits suffers from his obvious, unjustified trashing of Newt. I will never feel the same toward him or his site again. I hope his love for Romney costs him.

unless he is planning on becoming Press Secretary in a Romney Administration, I really don’t see what’s in this for him

There’s a history here between FR and Matt Drudge. He’s dropped his link to FR.

No need to give him any further publicity.

Drudge is no longer a warrior with us.

The real lesson here is HOW MUCH the media can influence politics.

When there was no Drudge, we had no influence. Drudge came, and we did have influence. Now that he’s on this weird kick, we have less.

The nice thing is that the secular trend of the media is towards more and smaller networks.

Drudge will continue to be a force, sure, but who really believes there could only be ONE “Drudge”.

In 10 years there will be 100 of him, and many of those will be like our old Drudge.

Drudge has always been a peabrain. I met him back in 1998 and he was a peabrain then. I've never understood why anyone who knows about FreeRepublic would ever bother with his website.

You are the one calling it a problem and in a huff. Drudge is only reporting what the opposition knows. Isn't it better to be prepared and defend the statements?

Actually, you really don't know who Drudge supports. Unfortunately, there are many people who are emotionally fragile when it comes to the current primary situation and can't handle any perceived slight even when it is not intended as such. FreeRepublic has a huge number of very weak kneed people who turn and run at the slightest mention of something that offends them such as the Satan warning. They pretend someone is out to get Santorum.

Gosh, Santorum is correct. Shouldn't they be cheering instead?

This is going to be a big week for Santorum. As a political activist from Massachusetts I have seen firsthand how Romneys, money, and influence has taken down other true conservative candidates in favor of RINO’s who always lose, even though he stays quietly in the background. To suspect that Drudge and Coulter have been influenced as well is not to much to believe. I hope he stays strong and doesn’t throw any one else under the bus as he did Mr Freeze last week who made an innocent remark about virtuous women in years past “holding an aspirin between their legs” as a sort of contraceptive. Santorum fell apart and then went on to portray one of his biggest supporters as a wierdo. Hang tough Rick, you may indeed be fighting Satanic forces.

“I never went back on his site after he had the attacks on Newt.”

You don’t have to be a newt supporter, you can even be strongly against Newt and still realize that Drudge’s attacks were unfair and motivated by a RINO agenda.

Did Drudge start writing Santorum’s speeches? Maybe Rick could read some of John Courtney Murray S.J.’s writings on religious liberty and how he moved the Catholic Church from the view that error has no liberty. My immortal soul does depend on my having the freedom to do God’s Will, but that is my choice, not that of the state.

Do not give drudge the hits that make him money.

That’s what I did a couple of weeks ago, (no hits), haven’t been back, and I don’t miss his web sight.

"Actually, you really don't know who Drudge supports."

Hmmm, let's see. drudge has been attacking Newt and Santorum, but "highlights" mittens.

Gee, that's a hard one to figure out.
