PORTLAND Starting in June, cars, ATVs and dirt bikes may no longer travel on almost 4,000 miles of roads in Oregons largest national forest.
Officials hope that closing roads in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest helps preserve habitat for wildlife and fish.
The plan is drawing opposition from people who depend on motor vehicles to go hunting, berry picking, sightseeing or firewood gathering.

So much for “public lands”.
Access restricted to only those we deem worthy.
Who owns America? We do. Get used to it.
Yes it all about control and keeping people from using the forest.
Some of theses roads have been used for decades with no harm.
We have seen this all over the US close roads keep people out less hunting, less logging.
“Closing our forests, removing dams, herding us all into cities...” EXACTLY
“are”, not “and”
well, use a motorized wheelchair, and if they try to stop you, sue them.
