Q: What if guns get designated as destructive force under the healthcare law? (vanity)

Posted on 03/28/2012 9:24:50 AM PDT by indianyogi

If we can be compelled to buy health insurance, can we be compelled to give up or not be able to buy guns?

If that comes to be, I’ll not say a word.

After all, like many others here at FR, all my firearms were lost in a boating accident years ago.

:o)

Good point.

Meanwhile, if we stopped forcing hospitals to treat people who can’t pay, we wouldn’t need to fix our healthcare system.

It’s like forcing cab drivers to take passengers who cannot pay. The result would be higher and higher cab fares, until nobody could pay and Obama would have to make everyone have cab fare insurance.

That’s what I’m thinkin’. Reinstatement of the Militia Act Of 1792 would have zero judicial problems.

I’ve told my kids that if anyone, including a doctor, asks about guns in the house, tell them “I don’t know” or “none of your business”.

I did the same when asked about wearing a seatbelt - “what does that have to do with my cough?”

There will be at the very least a surcharge for every gun one owns. And since ammo and reloading components are not without their risks, these also will incur an additional charge.

Obamacare will be paid for by gunowners.

There is nothing they cannot compel or prohibit you from doing because there is nothing that you do that won’t have “a substantial effect on the cost of healthcare”.

The great Mark Steyn put it very well: ...under any government system that interjects a bureaucracy between you and your health, the elderly and not so elderly get denied treatment. And there's nothing you can do about it because, ultimately, government health represents the nationalization of your body.

You are welcome. I’m not affiliated with that company in any way, but I have an AR mag loader and another one for pistol. Works great on my 10mm’s double stacked mags with heavier Wolff springs.
