Dr James Hansen, director of the Nasa Goddard Institute for Space Studies, who first made warnings about climate change in the 1980s, said that public scepticism about the threat of man-made climate change has increased despite the growing scientific consensus.
Speaking ahead of a public lecture in Edinburgh this week, he admitted that without public support it will be impossible to make the changes he and his colleagues believe need to occur to protect future generations from the effects of climate change.
He blamed sceptics who are opposed to major social and economic changes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions for employing "tremendous resources" to undermine the scientific evidence.
Dr Hansen, who will receive the Edinburgh Medal at the Edinburgh International Science Festival, pointed to a number of controversies involving climate scientists, such as the leaked University of East Anglia emails, as being partly responsible for the shift in public opinion.
Critics, however, insist the public have become desensitised by decades of dire warnings by climate scientists.

“Tremendous resources” ... like, for example, the truth.
They are losing because they are not scientists in any sense of the word. They don’t know how to collect data, analyze data, or interpret the analysis. Their predictions contain as much truth as an Obamaloon speech, and their math would get them an A from any liberal journalist (redundency alert....).
Failure is their goal, and in that only...they are successful.
He needs to wait a minute so that the idiot who is touted as the “expert” on the Weather Channel can join him. They had a U.S. weather map showing elevated temps, flooding and increased tornado activity which he said were due solely to increased human production of greenhouse gasses. Totally ridiculous. All I expect from the weather channel is to report on the weather for today and the next few days. Maybe they just don’t know what the weather is going to be so they have to fill the space with noise.
Maybe they just need to take another vote on it - they might get a bigger "consensus"! That's the way "sie-unce" gets done, isn't it?

About those weather maps. Around ten years ago the color palette of weather maps shifted to make existing temperatures look warmer to casual observers. Where 70F weather had once been shown as green it was changed to yellow and 60F weather inherited the green.
This, to me, was a sign of media complicity in the warming hoax.

According to Paul Ehrlich, (mentor of Science Czar John Holdren) humanity expired in the middle 1980’s due to mass starvation. Ehrlich made his amazing prediction in the 1960’s, just as the “green revolution” was making world hunger a thing of the past.
This is an excellent book which has a very good history of the global cooling/warming scares. The author is a former liberal who used to believe in AGW before he began to look into it.
