MUSTARD OIL

Posted on 04/14/2012 6:17:05 PM PDT by mamelukesabre

Mustard oil is amazing! I use it to cook everything now. You know that hot spicy mustard sauce they have in Chinese restaurants? This stuff has that same fiery zing even though its just cooking oil. I like it almost as much as Worcestershire sauce.

I take Olive Oyl on me spinach.

She said she didn’t go in for that kinky stuff but she’s a naughtier girl than she knew.

I personally can’t handle anything much stronger than your standard green or white onion, but if it was my last meal, I might as well jump in, feet first.

Olive oil and mustard powder. Soak for a couple of days then use. Olive oil is great stuff as a base for marinades. Soak your favourite herb in it for a few days and use.

I love hot foods. The hottest I ever had was “The Man” sauce from Dixie’s BBQ here in Seattle. All you needed was to dip a toothpick in the sauce and rub it on your sandwich, and it was still too hot for most people. I had three scoops on my sandwich and almost died.

So - as someone who loves spicy stuff, but not mustard - does it taste like mustard or make food taste like mustard?

Mix :
(1) tablespoon of cayenne pepper,
(1) of cumin,
(1) of mustard powder

with
1/4 cup of pure honey,
1/4 cup of Wild Turkey 101

Blend thoroughly and then coat boneless chicken breasts, toss into hot skillet, while cooking add 1 teaspoon of lime juice, 1/2 cup of sliced white onion, 1/2 cup of chopped green onions, 1/4 cup of pure olive oil.

Serve over rice or noodles as preferred, have plenty of cold water on hand, it’s going to be spicy. :)
