At the same time, there is good reason for males (men as well as boys) to be more fearful of sex than females. Contemporary reproductive technology and law place all the burden for unwanted pregnancy on them. Between the pill and abortion, women have complete control over the reproductive process. They can avoid or end any unwanted pregnancy, and the man involved has no say in the matter. In Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992), the U.S. Supreme Court went so far as to hold that a married woman has the constitutional right to abort her husband's child without even telling him.

Toronto is a nice city, but romantic?
UGH. :-)
I remember the first time......it was like that bombing campaign in Iraq......shock and awe and then the tanks rolled in.
And don’t forget the Family Courts of America, where men are utterly destroyed in travesties of justice.
And women wonder why so many men are determined to stay single...
>>>... the man involved has no say in the matter.
Wrong. He can keep his knickers off the floor, or have a vasectomy.

Or wrap the rascal... bottom line: don’t indiscriminately sow seed.
In "the jungle" 10% of the men mate with 90% of the women. It's always been that way. It always will be.
That said I tell every young man when the subject arises: "Take your future into your own hands and put a rubber on".
The way family law works today it's insane to do otherwise. Same for marriage.
Insane.
Exactly how do you propose to give men "some control" over reproduction? I believe they already have it. It's called self-control.
As long as our culture worships death and non-reproductive sexual pleasure it's going to continue the slide into the abyss.
And what would "some control" be?
That won't stop 'em.
Wrong. He can keep his knickers off the floor, or have a vasectomy.
Absolutely! I never had an iota of interest in being a father and accordingly, I got a vasectomy. Worked for me.
The mass media’s hyping shows such as the Duggars, 16 & Pregnant ect ect also have an effect. Young teen girls love babies and if “they” can do it, why not us?
It’s good to see young men waking up against the religious kookery “be fruitful and multiply.” Empty words when its child support time.
Religious kookery?
Procreating and rearing one’s offspring within marriage is a very conservative act.
Treating one’s body as a recreational playground is an unconservative act.
“Procreating and rearing ones offspring within marriage is a very conservative act.”
Not when done by high school dropouts. If said yokels want to commence squirting out babies let their church, instead of the taxpayers, be on the hook for it. For 18 years.
Do you have a link, an address or phone number for these churches full of HS dropouts preaching this alleged message.
Perhaps you should visit a few more churches before presuming to speak to what they teach.
So, this is your advice to married men whose wives abort the baby without telling him, or inform him after the fact? Don't have babies, abstain from sex with your wife or have a vasectomy and then she can never abort the baby? Wow, I would advise you not to ever try to become a psychologist or a marriage counselor.
The fact of the matter is men, whether married or single, have no control over what happens to the baby,if one comes along, but are 100% financially responsible for it, and sometimes when it isn't even their child.
The Churches doesn’t need to announce “you a knocked up high school drop out? - get free govt bennies.” Word spreads fast enough by word of mouth. Keep your preachments away from me and my family and keep your kook mitts off of my tax dollars and guns!
