The wind bag/ Archie Bunker right!

We have a real problem with the conservative side being represented at too often as a characture of what a real loving and honest conservative is, often by talk show hosts. I won't name names, but when we come off like an Archie Bunker, hardened type, it actually does our side a lot of harm!

When I hear one talk show host claiming that it is the women taking over positions of power and that they cannot make sound decisions, latter changing the facts and saying now only liberal women; yet not including the fact that mans misuse of women is the real fault. Or saying that liberal blacks need to go back to the plantation to get a work ethic back; stirring a lot of emotions, but not with truth but rather hyperbole. Or when another goes on and on, irritated at Obama, just ranting and speaking very little about the greatness of the conservative cause and how so many good things come of lower tax burdens and how people themselves help each other when they have more of their OWN money. Ronald Reagan had the same insights, but he articulated the brightness of the right more, as well as the deceptions that the left were under too. Any unbalanced approach is not good and is happening so much in conservative talk radio land.

So I am not writing this to get down or judge our side, but honestly, all the right ideas without the love is not helping us a whole lot. And we have a real battle here for our nation, with our entire government throughout or country being infiltrated by mostly well meaning, but evil possessed socialist leaders and bureaucrats. It will probably come to arms once again, but in the meantime, let us have fun, be bold and love like Reagan did. If you need help with that, do as so many US troopers are doing, and practice the Be Still and know at www.copingstrategiescd.com.

Are you on drugs, is that your problem?

What the Hell are you babbling about. Perhaps you hit your head when you fell out of bed this morning!

What are you saying? My observations are correct as some right wingers are so irritated with the left that they are missing the joy of articulating the right!
What don’t you get? Or are you one of them and just want to pick a fight?

When “All In The Family” was created, Meathead was supposed to be the hero. That quickly changed when CBS found out a lot more viewers identified with Archie.

It’s easy to throw out an insult. But, it kind of goes to the point the OP is making.

I doubt that was intentional.

Yeah, he had the right ideas...just missing the love. So many men are too hard and that actually helps to empower the left.

What I don’t get is why this brain fart of yours deserves a vanity post.

It is tripe, it is irrelevant, and it is wrong. From the programs I listen to and tune into on TV, most of the Republicans and right wingers are significantly more relaxed, happy, reasonable and clear eyed than their lunatic counter parts on the Left.

So the question stands.

What the Hell are you babbling about?

I think a blanket statement about the ‘Archie Bunkers’ on the right should be represented by an EXAMPLE. Perhaps more than one!

>>with our entire government throughout or country being infiltrated by mostly well meaning, but evil possessed socialist leaders and bureaucrats.

There's where you blew it. They are not well meaning, loving, compassionate or any other sweet sounding adjective. They hate our individual freedoms. Self reliant people bring out the worst in them because we refuse to be 'controlled' to a point where we cannot take a deep breath. Start over and learn that there is actually Americans who hate our style of government. Look at all the people who are for the freedom crushing tactics of Agenda 21. Oh, you don't know what Agenda 21 is, do you? That might be a good place to start Sweetheart.

Who is Archie Bunker? Who is calling for blacks to go to a plantation?

I’m hate to say this old chap, but in trying to tell us not to be a caricature you have done just that and given us your caricature of conservatives.

Could you give us a specific example of who and what you are talking about? Anytime you throw around broad generalities you are characterizing. Do all conservative talk show hosts fit this category, of course not; so why the broad brush approach?

Your supposition is inaccurate.

Norman Lear, who invented Archie Bunker to mock conservatives, was reportedly shocked when Bunker instead became beloved by the audience. In no small part, this is due to Carrol O'Conner making the character more than one-dimensional, and adding a human side to Archie.

Secondly, the many sayings of Archie Bunker turned out to have great wisdom:

reverend Jesse Lee Peterson. He got a lot of reactions from that and he thinks it is because blacks are mad at him for being right. The problem is, that type of hyperbole makes him feel right in comparison to the anger that he stirs up..not really helpful to anyone.

People are unique, they see things differently and should be free to express themselves accordingly. They should not be expected to shut up because others disagree.

I'm grateful to live in a nation that respects that. For the time being, anyway.

Well, yes Archie did have great wisdom...he just lacked that Reagan type of love is all I am saying. Definelty better than the left, of course.

A good point. The first quote is classic.

I also find the lack of attention to detail among those that mock conservatives alarming. Why do people use Archie Bunker to criticize conservatives as heartless, why do we use Matt Dillon (the one from Gunsmoke) to critique stand your ground laws?

Yes, of course...I am just pointing out what is oft missing from the right.
