Brooglass!
I have no close family left... BUT, my father’s immediate family all played bluegrass.. mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass...
I only have 1 left.. his sister, my aunt. I spoke to her the first time in 25 years about 5 months ago. SHARP as a tack (BTW, she was the mandolin player (and forgive me if my spelling is off.. been in Japan for a long time, even I get l and r mixed up sometimes)).
She told me a bit of family history I was always curious about..
Anyway.. Take care and God Bless us all :)
Brooglass!

Bookmarked, and, thank you :D
I started guitar when I was 6yo (he passed his guitar to me)... but I always wanted to try banjo... never touched one, myself :/
(Saw some B/W photos of him on the ship playing banjo.. wish there was Vid :/ )
My dad told me he learned Banjo during ‘Nam... on the long hauls (he was navy)..
I learned what he taught me on the guitar..... he told me that some people have a talent to hear chord/tune (tuning the guitar (or any inst.)... the warble)...
Anyway, not going to waste other FReeper’s time with that.. would take me days to type out :p and it’s past midnight here.. I need to get to bed :p

I’ve heard ‘em....outstanding. :)
I like it. Thanks. :)
That was fun. They played long time. Let me know when the Chinese Alison Krauss puts her video up.
My husband has been a professional musician for 45+ years. If it has strings, he can play it. He has at least 6 banjos. Ping me if you want a link to his youtube page. Netflix has instant videos of the Flatt & Scruggs TV show, Roscoe Holcombe, Norman Blake, Doc Watson and many others. Its much better than watching current TV. You can also go to The Banjo Hangout http://www.banjohangout.org/ , click on media archive jukebox. There is a plethora of music to listen to posted by (mostly) armatures but of very high quality.
amatuers not armatures. Jeez
