SANFORD, Fla., June 29 (UPI) -- After a 3-hour hearing Friday, a Florida judge postponed a decision on renewing bail for George Zimmerman, accused of killing an unarmed black teenager.
Zimmerman's attorneys argued for release on $150,000 bail, the Orlando Sentinel reported. That was the figure set before Judge Kenneth Lester revoked it after prosecutors argued Zimmerman and his wife had lied about money raised through an online appeal.
During the hearing, the defense acknowledged Zimmerman's wife lied about the money but argued Zimmerman, 28, is a good candidate for release. They also presented testimony to show Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder, acted in self-defense when he shot Trayvon Martin.
Martin, 17, was on his way to a relative's house in a gated community in Sanford when Zimmerman began following him. Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, ignored a 911 dispatcher's urging to stop his pursuit.
Robert Zimmerman testified during the hearing that a voice calling for help on a 911 tape was his son's. A Sanford firefighter said Zimmerman had "blood on his face and the back of his head" and his nose showed signs of severe injuries.
Bernie De la Rionda, the prosecutor, said Martin could have perceived Zimmerman as a threat. He said Zimmerman had "profiled" the teenager.
"What you have here is basically a defendant who perceives himself as the police out there," De la Rionda said.

Zimmerman is a dangerous white Hispanic Cracker.
One thing I have learned is that Eric Holder’s people get what the Hell they want, ain’t no white boy gonna tell them ****, and that is all there is to it.
Sure, real leftish there, Judge. Anything to keep him sitting in jail and not home with his family.
The Persecution of George Zimmerman continues and continues with the judge and prosecutors conspiring to jail Capt. Zimmerman on the basis of his being framed by the powers that be in Sanford.
It's also about the basic idea of equality in our society and the question of whether or not we now have special/protected groups of people who are legally untouchable to the extent that the rest of us can't even defend ourselves when one of them goes crazy on drugs and tries to kill us.
All I can say is that these wretched clowns had best make awfully damned certain that nothing untoward happens to George Zimmeron while he's waiting trial in their stupid prison.
Why did this case get so much attention?
I think in part it was the media thinking they could portray Zimmerman as a white racist vigilante (as part of their general theory that the biggest threat to African Americans is white racism), and partly Sharpton jumping to the conclusion that Zimmerman must be Jewish.
Jesse Jackson. Al Sharpton. Anti-Semitism. I think we've seen that show before.

What do these judges do with their 'postponement times"? Play golf? Build bigger "Pending" trays? Count their pensions? Isn't there something about a right to a speedy and public trial?

I suspect that Judge Kenneth Lester Jr will take the coward’s way out—just as every other public official in that part of Florida has done. He’ll not do anything that, in his opinion, will bring the wrath of the race baiters down on his lily-white head.
There has been, and will be, NO TRUE JUSTICE for George Zimmerman. The involved prosecutors and judges have allowed themselves to become instruments of injustice. They have no shame either which, to me, is amazing.
The Defense and Prosecution has to redact personal data from evidence submitted to the Judge. If the (un-redacted) evidence had been given to the Judge in the hearing, the vultures of the Media would have the data to “chase” the witnesses.
If you were a witness in this fiasco would you want the MSM pursuing you?

The white judge isn’t going to challenge black anything whatsoever.
Don't ever call 911, folks, to report a suspicious person as your neighborhood watch program requests of you. You just might be indicted for being a dreaded "profiler".
He’s already pronounced Zimmerman guilty in the decision to revoke his bail. Without hearing the case, he proclaimed the prosecutor’s race bait evidence strong against the whitey brown guy.
It will be up to at least one juror to derail these jacked up anti self defense racists. If Mara can, he should seek a different court. This idiot has already decided Zimmerman is guilty of murdering Saint Skittles. His pretrial decision was obvious in the bail hearing yesterday.
Well, I suppose the bright side is Zimmerman will be as free in jail as he is out of jail, much like the rest of us.
