If a major emergency happened in the United States, do you have faith that the government would take care of you? Amazingly, even after all of the examples to the contrary that we have seen in recent years, a solid majority of all Americans actually believe that the government will be there for them when things hit the fan. According to a new survey conducted by the Adelphi University Center for Health Innovation, 55 percent of Americans believe that the authorities will come to their rescue when disaster strikes.

-44 percent of all Americans do not have first-aid kits in their homes.

-48 percent of all Americans do not have any emergency supplies stored up.

-53 percent of all Americans do not have a 3 day supply of nonperishable food and water in their homes.

Yeah, the government will 'take care' of me all right... I prefer to not be subjected to their tender ministrations.

DUMBA$$E$!! $15 Trillion in debt isn't a disaster? 14% unemployment (the real number before Washington's manipulation) isn't a disaster? Huge future tax increases aren't a disaster? A government that consistently and monsterously lies to us isn't a disaster? Folks...we are already there, but far too many are too stupid to realize it!!

I have no problem believing that during a disaster our levels of government will help me.

I’m just not going to make that Plan A!

I am certain the government will be delighted to take care of me.

As long as “taking care of me” involves a trench and a bulldozer.

Take “If Disaster Strikes” out of the headline and you get a more acurate statement. Way too many Americans are adult children who want a Mommy & Daddy Government to take care of them so they don’t have to support themselves or prepare for emergencies. A nation of sheep who sit passively with their hands out if a terrorist strikes or if a natural disaster strikes or if they haven’t prepared for their retirement or pretty much anything else. The Welfare State has destroyed self-sufficiency in this country.

You either prepare and stand on your own beholden to no one or you become dependent on others to provide your basic needs and become thier‘serf’. Me I don’t want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly don’t want to have to kiss some ‘gubberment’ third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I don’t want some ‘jack booted’ thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I don’t want to be shut up in with a bunch of ‘zombies’ and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.

Now anyone thinking that prepping is foolish ask you what’s easier telling your children and loved ones why you prepared or explaining to them why you didn’t?

But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

But then someone has to stand on the bridge waiting for FEMA to bring them a bottle of water, an MRE and a warm blanket so as to provide the Network Anchors their background ‘Money Shot’. I wonder how that will workout for them?

Face it we’ve kicked the financial can so far down the road that we are running out of road and the can which was once the size of a soda can is now the size of an oil drum (Try kicking that!)

For those who are just starting or are old hands at prepping you may find my Preparedness Manual helpfull. You can download it at:

http://tomeaker.com/kart/Preparedness1j.pdf

NOTE! THIS IS A FREE DOWNLOAD. I DO NOT MAKE ONE CENT OFF MY PREPAREDNESS MANUAL!

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.

As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Or as the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
NIV Proverbs 22:3

Lastly this for the doubters and the scoffers.

“There is no greater disaster than to underestimate danger.

Underestimation can be fatal.”

I went through Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi, Mississippi. The first people to show up were the Salvation Army, Red Cross and the tree trimming scammers from Florida (who charged $5,000+ per home) and later Baptist and Catholic Charities, etc. The National Guard were much later and only had water and ice. Later, other church and similar groups appeared. Government took weeks and months.

I'm guessing that coincides with the percentage of people who believe 0bama will pay their utility bills, and the percentage that are total MORONS.

I hate to say it, but when TSHTF for real. . . this will be a good thing, in the long term view. The gene pool NEEDS some chlorine every now and then. . . .

Mind you, it’s going to severely suck for those who WERE prepared, if they’re living in the middle of a bunch of grasshoppers. . . .

I also consider the logisitics. A million meals in a warehouse does no good if the supply routes are blocked.

Even after 4000 years having the government control your food always ends in the same way with you trading your freedom for bread:

Genesis 47:19
Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.
