If a major emergency happened in the United States, do you have faith that the government would take care of you? Amazingly, even after all of the examples to the contrary that we have seen in recent years, a solid majority of all Americans actually believe that the government will be there for them when things hit the fan. According to a new survey conducted by the Adelphi University Center for Health Innovation, 55 percent of Americans believe that the authorities will come to their rescue when disaster strikes.

-44 percent of all Americans do not have first-aid kits in their homes.

-48 percent of all Americans do not have any emergency supplies stored up.

-53 percent of all Americans do not have a 3 day supply of nonperishable food and water in their homes.

The just thought that: "The others had seen the light and elected to stay with what they had built with their own hands."

The Government men will set them straight about how they didn't build it without government help.

55 percent of Americans just agreed to cannibalism, because that’s what it will resort to, if they trust the government to feed them in a real crisis.

I have seen people assault the mailman simply because he was late bringing “da check”. Imagine how those people will be when there is no check coming ever agains...

Boundary waters? Maybe you could smuggle out US citizens (and their stuff) out through Lake of the Woods via the NW angle in a SHTF scenario and US lockdown.

Even the people without cars in NOLA could’ve WALKED to Arkansas with all the warning they had! I wanted to drive up to Iowa and stay with relatives, but my elderly mother wouldn’t leave her home so I stayed with her.

I see this every time a hurricane comes through our area. All bottled water and food (except frozen and it is in piles behind grocery stores rotting in the heat) and batteries and gasoline is gone in two days before power goes out.

There is not enough for everyone when they all buy at once. One would think they would store some food for these times, but they don’t.

When my gas tank hits half full, I fill it up and I don’t have to go to stores for water and food with the mob just before the hurricane comes.

Do all these people think FEMA trucks with water and food are going to be on their street and they just walk outside and it’s there? What happens when their batteries die and they have used up their candles if they have any? FEMA doesn’t provide light for their house or a way to cook whatever kind of food they could find.

My county is large in miles and there are over 300,000 people within those miles. FEMA cannot feed that many people spread over many miles. This is deer country and Bambi would be dead very soon. Most everyone has a rifle and hand gun. Even though 95% of these people are Republicans, they are also Bubba’s and will provide for their family one way or another.

That is the reason I will sink into the woodwork so I won’t be noticed if there is a long lasting disaster.

They trust the government out of laziness and self-imposed inferiority.

Trusting the gov’t is easier and less scary than relying on yourself.
