Cruz vs. Dewhurst
Texas election | 7/2912

Posted on 07/29/2012 7:57:33 AM PDT by DallasBiff

Initially I was a Cruz supporter, but as the campaign rolled on and I found out that Cruz is a trial lawyer, I was skeptical, but I still supported Cruz, because he said the right things.

Still, though, saying the right things cannot hide your initial background, a trial lawyer=community activist.

As in all elections, the choice is the lesser of two evils, and a businessman is a lesser evil than a trial lawyer.

Cruz didn't represent Mericle in the criminal case. He did represent him in an appeal of a civil lawsuit Mericle had against an insurance company.

More Dewhurst dirty games and lies.

Try to get some facts, biff.

I know the facts, Cruz is a trial lawyer(parasite), while Dewhurst is a businessman(wealth creator).

If anyone wants to be on a ping list of Texans that want to defeat Dewhurst in 2014, ping me. I'll start putting a list together.

Voted for Cruz yesterday, don’t need another RINO in the Senate from Texas, the two we currently have are two too many.

As a pharmacist I would hate to be judged by the standards of the very very very few bad pharmacists. That is what we are doing to lawyers

Oh Like John Edwards, has he been kicked out of the ABA(American Bar Association)?

“And as a trial lawyer Ted Cruz reminds me of John Edwards in his rhetoric.”

That statement is the epitome of intellectual laziness. The ONLY thing those two have in common is that they both went to law school.

Edwards was a personal injury lawyer before entering politics.

Cruz is a appellate lawyer (google to learn more since you apparently don’t understand the difference), successfully served as the Solicitor General for Texas, and argued successfully in front of the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

Night and day.

Really, you have nothing of substance to say. He’s a lawyer, OMG!!!

And I agree, we do not need any more lawyers as representatives.

We need people who have lived in the real world, not the lawyer world, such as John Roberts.

“And as a trial lawyer Ted Cruz reminds me of John Edwards in his rhetoric.”

They are both extremely effective, persuasive arguers and debaters. The difference is, Ted is on our side, Edwards is on their side. And boy does the Republican Party need more articulate, persuasive, and conservative speakers.

You think you are doing your guy any good with comments like that?

Once again, I thank you for the thread. There is now a "Give Dewhurst the Boot" ping list. Wouldn't have happened this early without you.

First of all Dewhurst is not "my guy" but I have determined he is the best of lesser evils.

Your guy Ted Cruz is a trial lawyer, and nothing good comes from trial lawyers.

35 of the founders were lawyers, though not all practiced law as their main profession.
