Holiday Inn founder Kemmons Wilson had given his artist the final plans to draft promotional art for his hotel chain, but left the name on the sign blank. The artist happened to see “Holiday Inn” come on the television, and put it in the sign, and Wilson kept it.

Sadly, this film would never make it off the cutting room floor today because of scenes like the black-face routine. It is one of my all time favorites for good music, great dancing and good old fashioned slapstick comedy.
