Rove: Obama Holds 271 Electoral Votes
Vanity

Posted on 08/13/2012 8:13:21 PM PDT by goodn'mad

Fox News. Between Joe Trippi and Carl Rove. Rove states that Obama holds 271 electoral votes but Romney holds only 182 electoral votes. "If the election were held today, Obama would win."

“Obama has the Freepers for Obama contingent wrapped up well.”

He does indeed. A few (some of the longtime Freepers) seem to honestly feel they can’t vote for Romney in good conscience.

However, the majority of them have the clear stench of alinsky-ite trolls who go from thread to thread yanking chains.

Rove also said there was nothing to worry about in 2006... Pundits say what they are paid to say, at the end of the day.

We've all heard that the republic would be in trouble when people learned they they could vote themselves largesse from the government.

Two years ago we reached the point where more people are dependent upon or, work for the government than those who subsist in the private sector or make their living on their own.

It seems that a majority of Americans do not understand or care about the budget. The idea of leaving debt to the next generation doesn't really resonate with folks still working. Nor does it really hit home with the younger folks who will inherit the burden.

The financial collapse that seems inevitable will be a calamity with repercussions that no one can predict. It could come to pass that we will all have to make radical changes and learn to fend for ourselves. The guy I know who has developed a large garden, an orchard, a self generated cold storage room in his shop and has almost three years of dried and canned food doesn't seem so paranoid to me now. Neither does the fenced perimeter and extensive armament he has built to protect it all.

My guess is that a big collapse will not seriously affect baby boomers. But it will make our country vulnerable to a real take over by other powers and our children (maybe) and grand children (for sure) will not live in the same country we have been lucky enough to enjoy. Shame on us for not working harder to protect it.

If nothing else, this idiotic comment by Rove should lead us to redouble our efforts. Fight with every fiber in your body to defeat the Obamunist.

Rove's overrated.

August polls mean jack and schitt. Jack left town.

9/14/2008 RCP average

Obama - 45.3
McCain - 47.4

8/15/2004

Bush - 45.3
Kerry - 46.7

Polls at this point do not mean anything, even if they are done 100% correctly. Too many things can change between now and November, or even late September when the absentees start to be released.

Did you guys just get back from a jack a$$ convention?
You do realize the owner of this site is not supporting Romney?
To say someone who is not supporting Romney is a supporter of Obama, is beyond ludicrous.

Every non-vote or vote for a third party that would normally go to the GOP helps obama.

Not supporting Romney at this point is a help for Obama - plain and simple.

The non-votes are because of one element: ego

There are times to be idealistic; there are times to be pragmatic. Now is the time to be pragmatic.

Not voting for Romney is not a vote for Obama.
Romney non vote
Obama non vote
whoever non vote
Not voting for one of these people does not give a vote to the other two.
Just as voting for one of these people does not take a vote away from the two.

funny thing about that is the Democrats value every vote and they understand the importance of getting people to the polls. They jam ballot boxes, hire illegals to vote and set-up strategic car trunks filled with “forgotten” ballots that appear when the count is close. They even have legions of lawyers ready to say a dead person can vote but a member of the armed services is ineligible because their ballot had some mud and the two people that witnessed it were killed in an attack and their sigs could not be verified.

We, on the other hand, have people that refuse to sully their hands by pressing the Republican button on election day because the candidates are only 60% in agreement which means they are 40% an enemy. Which means we have people on our side that don’t really care.

We have been getting wake-up call after wake-up call.. when will we wake up.

A person’s vote is truly wasted when he does not use it to express his actual beliefs.
How can we expect to have principled leaders if we do not have a principled electorate?

You have know idea what you are talking about.
If I agreed with Romney 60% I’d probably vote for him.
I disagree 100% with his support of abortion.
I disagree 100% with his support of gun grabs.
I disagree 100% with his support of the homosexual agenda.
I disagree 100% with his support of big government.
I disagree 100% with his support of government mandates.
I disagree 100% with his support of liberal judges in MA.
I disagree 100% with his support of man made global warming.
I disagree 100% with his support of everything liberal.
If you wish to support him, be my guest, I can not because he is a liberal.

“Did you guys just get back from a jack a$$ convention?”

Maybe I could have taken the time and been more clear in my comments, but I’m not free to Freep to my heart’s content like others may be, as I work from home and am responsible for my own income. Freep too much, no pay. But I don’t believe I deserve to be ridiculed in order for anyone to make a point.

So allow me to clarify if I may ... my “obama contingent” agreement was concerning Freepers (In Name Only, BTW) who are here to sow discord and otherwise do damage to this site with their antics. It’s a true statement. They don’t love this country and they’re using the animosity of those who hate Romney in order to further their cause - basically using good folks on FR to do so. Some are newly signed up, some are sleeper-Freeper trolls — there are quite a few of them if you watch closely. Not every Freeper who says they hate Romney despises him for the reasons you do.

I also stated that some don’t feel they can vote for Romney in good conscience, (therefore won’t go against their conscience, and I believe this includes the owner of the site). Maybe this is the point where I could have been more clear if not in a huge hurry, so please forgive me.

“You do realize the owner of this site is not supporting Romney?”

According to his conscience, as stated above. But speaking just for myself, yes, I do realize the owner’s position and know that he’s also stated he will not stop discussion.

“To say someone who is not supporting Romney is a supporter of Obama, is beyond ludicrous.”

You might have a point if I suggested that, but I didn’t, not even a little bit. Everyone has to do what they feel is the right thing and I don’t go around belittling others who don’t agree with me. I will expose the fact that these trolls are here, they have a purpose, and they’re of the same ilk as obama, pelosi, reid, etc.

BTW, to be clear, I don’t support Romney and never have. The one I truly support didn’t run. There was one who ran that I actually was able to vote for in the primary...

But I fear for my country and keep hoping and praying that I’m in the majority there, and believe I am. I’ll vote for Romney and I’ll also pray that he’s truthfully either changed his position on many things, or will change his position and be forced to the right. I believe strongly in prayer and the wonder of grace and mercy.

That said, it could be that we’ve crossed the line and deserve obama and the complete destruction that will come our way through him. So be it.

Well, my lunch break is over so if you have the need to fuss at me further and I don’t respond right away, I’m working and apologize for the delay.

that isn’t what I am doing. Polls tighten up nearer the election because the pollsters begin to actually poll those who are going to vote AND they tend to poll with slightly less skew. Today’s info is really meaningless. At this point in the campaign in 1980 everyone said the cowboy from California was toast....

So I tell them if taxes are raised will it cause those small businesses to hire less people? Their answer flabbergasted me....They said no, the money will come out of profits only, not cutting employees.

I think we are in bigger trouble than you think.

I had to take a moment to repeat this because it's so important. I know a 29 year old from Krispy Kreme Christie's NJ with the same view of how business works.

That's a failure of basic education and yet he attended college.

Republicans are certainly losing the message war and that's a very serious problem. Democrats have been marvelously successful at defining what Republicans are, what their priorities are, what their policies are. It's something to behold. Talk to someone who depends on TV for news.

The way news is "reported" makes me furious because it violates the fundamental principles I learned even as a kid about critical reading, fact checking, objectivity and evenhandedness--I won't say "fairness" because I've come to despise that word. Telling me every 30 minutes "Obama said" Paul Ryan is killing crops and destroying livelihoods because he's blocking a farm bill is not reporting. It's not journalism. It's parroting, it's being used as a tool of propaganda. What is the bill? Does it exist? Was there a vote? Did it passed? Is it in the Senate?

I notice Obama leads on the news breaks so he always get the "first word" in audio and many times his is the only audio. Again, that's propaganda and not journalism.

It is amazing to me Democrats can go so far as to effectively accuse Romney of murder and deny they are the ones accusing him of murder. That's where we are. That's how severe their propaganda campaign is. Incredible.
