I didn’t know Karl and Jeb were butt buds. I thought Karl was in the tank for Romney and that was it.

I don’t see how. People will have to decide in huge numbers to change their minds abut Obama. Unless Romney and Ryan really made huge errors, they will win. Obama can’t get above 45% and we are now less than 3 months from election day.

Rove is giving Obama states here he sites at 45-46% because he might be ahead of Romney a few. These are states Romney is likely to win.

I play golf often with 2 seniors who are both retired government workers. They will vote for Obama because they are convinced GOP is only for rich people’s benefit.

So I ask them basic questions such as...why should seniors be scared of Romney-Ryan? Their answer: they will cut Medicare & Social Security. I ask them do they know that GOP proposals will not affect people over 55? Nope, they don’t know. But they hear on the news that Ryan wants to gut Medicare.

Next topic...they want taxes on rich people to go up. I ask them who creates most new jobs? They agree it is small businesses. So I tell them if taxes are raised will it cause those small businesses to hire less people? Their answer flabbergasted me....They said no, the money will come out of profits only, not cutting employees.

I think we are in bigger trouble than you think.

With gasoline prices rising back above $4 a gallon in parts of the country I think you'll see Obama's numbers start to take a serious hit. Note that his numbers were strongest in recent months around 6-8 weeks ago when fuel prices dropped unexpectedly around the 4th of July.

For whatever it's worth, you can go back over the last 40+ years and you'll find that, almost without exception, a president's approval rating is almost inversely proportional to the price of gasoline in this country.

We sent Romney money.

Let’s hope he and Ryan pull this off.

The consequences of an Obama win are too harsh to contemplate.

The end of America and freedom as we know it.

We could be entering a dark age of economic collapse with out of control debt, higher food and gas prices, unemployment like never seen and widespread social unrest.

After you remove ‘what seem to be safe states’ for Obama and Romney you are left with Obama-201 Romney-191

The states below will decide the election. These are all states Obama won in 08.

State Poll date sample data EV

Michigan 7/23/12 500LV Obama-48 Romney-42 16

Iowa 8/8/12 500LV Romney-46 Obama-44 6

Nevada 7/24/12 500LV Obama- 50 Romnay-45 6

Wisconsin 7/25/12 500LV Obama-49 Romnay-46 10

Colorado 8/6/12 500LV Obama-47 Romney-47 9

Penn. 7/18/12 500LV Obama-48 Romney-44 20

N. Car 8/1/12 500LV Romney-49 Obama-44 15

Virginia 8/7/12 500LV Obama-48 Romney-46 13

New Ham 6/20/12 500LV Obama-48 Romney-43 4

Florida 7/9/12 500LV Romney-46 Obama-45 29

Ohio 7/18/12 500LV Obama-47 Romney-45 18

Total of toss ups 146

R&R will take Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida, Iowa, & Colorado. I can see Michigan and Pennsylvania also turning red. High probability of that happening and if so, shows over call in the moving vans.

Indeed.
ObamaCare survived the Supreme Court against all odds.

Watch the gatekeepers.
Electors are not legally obligated.
He need only buy a couple dozen votes.
The Chicago Way is good at that.
Especially with a bottomless checking account and a baseball bat.

Interesting anecdote, but I wouldn't read too much into that. Those two @ssholes would be voting for Obama in any case.

Something to remember here is that those are retired government workers, which means their whole political outlook has been based on an expectation of nanny-state government for decades. But for every one of those jack@sses, I would venture to guess that there are 2-3 Obama voters from 2008 who are: (1) under the age of 25; (2) recent (post-2008) college graduates; and (3) unemployed, and facing no prospects of gainful employment anytime soon. It's this latter group who is going to play a much bigger role in this election -- either by voting for Romney or by simply staying home on Election Day.

If the attitude that you described for those two golfing partners of yours were as indicative of a general political trend as you seem to think, we would never have Republican governors like Chris Christie and Scott Walker ... who built their campaigns on rescuing middle-class workers from government workers ... in deep "blue" states, mind you.

I think its a big job to unseat a tyrant....first you have your regular pinkos and slackers and govt workers and your lazy no good welfare cheats, and then you have "conservative" voters not voting or voting for the all powerful third party....

can't wait to read all their complaints if obamey wins....all their angst over "if" only the pubs had listened to "them".....

“Especially with a bottomless checking account and a baseball bat.”

Forget the baseball bat...in Chicago they use automatic AK-47’s etc.

And these are the ‘gun grabbers’ doing the using.

Rove predicted the Republicans would NOT take the House in 2010. He was way off and too pessimistic then, and he still is today.

Something else to think about is that one of the cornerstones of the original ObamaCare legislation was that it was financed largely through massive Medicare cuts. For those two @ssholes to suggest that they're going to vote for that jug-eared nitwit because they think Romney and Ryan are going to "destroy Medicare" is laughable.

This is why this country is not run by retired government workers who play golf. It's also why if the sh!t really hits the fan in this country, a lot of retired government workers are going to find themselves on the first freight trains or barges taking hordes of useless, unproductive people to their demise.

democrats ARE more prevalant so they should be polled in higher numbers...

but FWIW I'd rather be behind at this point than ahead.....its August....Romney/Ryan can really let go now, full steam ahead...

I hope they fight like wild cats....tooth and nail...

sad to think that there are some who want obamey to win here on fr....very sad....

And Obama won Indiana in 2008.

Rasmussen has Obama losing Indiana by 16%. RR 51% to Obama’s 35%.

RCP has Ob ama ahead in the large electoral states, mostly blue and purple. That is why he is ahead. Mitt has to win some purple states and take back some of the ones Bama won in 2008 like Fla., NH,NM, Ind. NC, Ohio. If he can, the electoral votes will change. Popular vote only translates into electoral votes and in that way, yes, B ama still leads. But, that could change. Some states are pretty close with Bama ahead by 2-3 pts. That can be turned in 80 plus days by good ideas and ads and visitation. We shall see if that happens. Then too, Pubs might actually outvote Dems this time and if so, more than one Bama state could turn .
