Amid the triumphant success of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin's successful moon-walk in July 1969, NASA and President Richard Nixon's White House breathed a heavy sigh of relief that he didn't have to deliver a speech to the nation entitled 'In Event of Moon Disaster'.
The speech and a memo were prepared in the event that the two Apollo 11 astronauts did not manage to reconnect with their command module piloted by Michael Collins and could not return safely home to Earth.
The memo laid out a list of instructions for President Nixon, among which was the tragic task of calling the 'widows-to-be' to express condolences and then to deliver a moving and thoughtful speech to the United States and ultimately the watching world.
The memo was drafted by Nixon's chief of Staff, H.R. Haldeman and the speech by Wailliam Safire who went on to work for the New York Times.

You realize that claim started because of a French "Mockumentary", which made the claim that Kubrick helped nasa make the fake footage. Moon conspiracy numb-nuts took that footage and claim as the real deal.

“The Cold Equations” dealt with not enough fuel and jettisoning a passenger. Larry Niven had one where the guy was stuck on Pluto and choose to take off his suit and take a heroic pose before freezing to death.
Not really suggesting anything.I haven’t paid attention to any of this until Armstrong died.
Given what our government was up to with MK Ultra...I think it is entirely possible that there was a moon landing but some of the footage was made on earth.
It’s possible that they did , indeed, see something they don’t want us to know.
I just know the press conference was weird. Aldrin has indicated there might have been UFOs. Armstrong made a very weird comment decades later.
I don’t think any of the same men went up again.
There is weird footage that looks like one of the astronauts got pulled up by a wire in a later mission...he is on a knee on the surface trying to get up. The other guy says let me give you a hand. Then the guy gets up as if pulled by a wire...but maybe that has something to do with the atmosphere.
Don’t know what the real story is...I just know the depths of the government know no bounds - as seen by MK Ultra. - Of which, we probably don’t know the worst because Helms ordered the evidence destroyed.
1. When the lunar mission was in progress, the ham radio operators of the world could listen in and track their broadcasts along with the moon. You cannot fake that.
2. To borrow from the comic XKCD, if they faked the moon landing to justify the money, they’d have done it against by now.

The moon landings were nothing when compared to D-Day.
Had D-Day failed, the Swastika would have been planted on the Moon.
The landing at Tranquility Base was far from tranquil. NASA’s plan was to have large fuel safety margins and an abort plan available for any emergency. Yet the ‘Model A’ computer in the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM) went into constant alarm mode which meant that Neil Armstrong had to manually fly the LEM over an unacceptable landing field and finally set down with 15 seconds of fuel remaining. Thus the Houston reply about “... a lot of guys turning blue...” to their Tranquility Base announcement.
R.I.P. Neil, fly with the eagles now!
PS: The first permanent base on the Moon should be named Armstrong-Kennedy but most probably will be some Chinese name instead!
Would have had said the same thing in the 60s if I had told you that the government was drugging innocent people and following them around to watch what happened??
Or that they programmed a person who was scared of guns to kill a person based on just a finger point ..and the person was programmed not to remember it later?
Would you say the same thing about a pedophile ring with a link to an Air Force Base.. that had a link to Penn State- where kids were mentally broken down in order to get them to commit acts on order - such as blackmailable events on members of Congress.

So what did Aldrin see that he wasn’t suppose to talk about?
Did he just go nuts and make stuff up?
Or did he see a UFO.
So, because the government has been shown to lie about one thing, means that everything else is a lie? Sure, be suspicious, but don't be silly. As for the quote, its a great quote about working hard, and digging to get to the truth, to venture out and discover the Universe.
But but but... if they never went to the moon, how did he see a UFO?
So what is the real story about the two minute blackout and the supposed ham interception?
There are many people that believe AboveTopSecret is run by the government in order to keep track and post disinformation.
Given comments by Aldrin, the cryptic message from Armstrong, and the weird press conference after the landing - isn’t it possible that they did see something that altered them - whatever that might be.
Armstrong looks either scared or drugged in that press conference. There are moments when his face just looks dreadful.
I never said they didn’t go to the moon.
I think something happened.
And the US has tried to cover it up.
As I have said many times...MK ULtra should show you there are no bounds when it comes to the US Government.
