I thought Detroit had a very good draft and they will be good but I think there are going to be a lot of teams at 10-6 and they will be with that bunch. I also think they are a year away with major weaknesses in the running game and the defensive backfield.
Yeah, Ndamukong Suh has proved to be more of a liability. He came up without much trouble through his college years, but the ability level is much more varied. In the NFL, he appears to have been resentful that everyone hasn’t just admitted his superiority and given up. If the simple ass hadn’t gotten thrown out of the Green Gay game and been suspended a few more, Detroit’s record would have been better, and Green Bay would have lost that day. If he ever pulls that crap again, he should be on a *bus* back to Samoa or whatever.
BB is going to be working the roster a lot between now and the day after the first game.
They kept only 22 O players, 27 on the D and the 3 ST specialist. I expect B Waters back after Labor Day and after the first game with Branch and or Gaffney (depending on health) back on the roster They have a couple of rookies Rivera and Forston they would like to get to the PS IMO and if they keep them on the 53 till after the first game the odds of them being signed by another team will be reduced they did this last year with G Warren cut him on the last cutdown and brought him back after the first game.
I wish Demps injury hadn’t put him on the IR.
Exactly. And I agree about Demps...he looked exciting.
Here's to an interesting season.
Cheers.
This will be my last as a seasons ticket holder to the Bears games so hopefully I can go out with a bang.
Good luck to you, mate!
Dallas has elite skill guys in place but their OL and DL are sub par, and that makes all the difference. It's not just their talent level on the OL; they have no chemistry yet--with new guys on board and old guys in new positions--which is crucial for that unit. Thin at backup. Now the Giants and Eagles were very effective rushing the passer last year and they are healthier as well as improved, so you see why this concerns me.
On the DL Dallas relies too much on Ware and other LBs for their own QB pressure. Unless Crawford/Ratliff/Hatcher step up they will not get the rush they could have otherwise with just a little help. Depth poor here also. Dallas has a chance if they can remain healthy and get some breaks early as they build unit cohesion on the OL.
Could the Eli pull another div title out of his hat? I've discounted him too many times to set aside the possibility, but that NY team was no better than a handful of others in the NFC and at the end of the year and not as good as Philly. I don't see any great advantages in their court.
Failing something totally unforeseen I think the damn Eagles might just win the division. That's just unjust.
Texans over the 49ers
Detroit is dangerous, dangerous, dangerous. I think they’re going to run wild all over the NFC. Even my Giants are going to have a serious problem with Megatron and his crew.
Houston in the Super Bowl ? Maybe. The AFC is wide open.

If the AFC is weak, that probably means Pittsburgh will win it.
I like the Steelers a lot. They’re a well balanced team. They can run, pass, and play “D”. My only concern with them is Wallace may be rusty after his holdout. He’s a big, big part of their offense. He has to be 100% for them to do their thing.
If Tebow takes Sanchez’s job before the Jets lose too many games, they could be dangerous as well.
Niners don't lose Super Bowls!
;)
But they are old, health will be an issue.
Well, anything is possible...being a lifelong Cowboys fan I felt traitorous cheering for SF last yr in the playoffs, but I enjoy their aggressive approach to the game. Should they meet Houston in the big one they’d have a formidable defense to contend with—better the the Gnats. Texans edge SF on the strength of their D. Write it down. 3” headlines.

Susssssssssssssssssshh-- Don't tell anyone, dog, but... if Allegra's Texicans win, I won't kill myself--
True, but when they’re hot, they’re hot.
When Roethlisberger is on his game, look out. But injuries may very well be their downfall. You’re right. They’re old.
But in any event, I think Perdogg is right. I think the Lions are going to the Super Bowl. I can’t see Houston going without tickets, but you never know.
No, ya never know, that's why they play the games...
BUT, I can see Niners, Packers, Patriots, Steelers in the mix for the big game, lions, not so much, too much off field baggage.
The Niners.....there’s a team under the radar. That “D” of theirs is just sick. Patrick Willis is amazing. Their offense is vastly underrated as well. Vernon Davis is ridiculous!
This is going to be a fun season. Can’t wait.
