Dems In Pa County Will Issue Voter ID
vanity

Posted on 09/21/2012 11:47:01 AM PDT by Andrei Bulba

I haven't been here long enough to post this in News, but many of you read all new posts. In today's paper, I see the democrats in Montgomery County, PA, are using a "loophole" in the voter ID law to have nursing homes in the county issue voter ID cards. Believe me they control these institutions. The article in today's paper makes no bones about this being the democrats who control the county, using a loophole to issue their own voter ID's.

I knew they would start printing voter ID's up and can assure you they will allow fraud to occur.

This is in a front page Philadelphia Enquirer article. Above that story is a headline that NJ’s unemployment rate is 9.9% ! The article says the unemployment rate is a “problem for Governor Christie” - not Obama.

They are doing this in Allegheny County, too, through the County owned Kane Nursing Centers and the Allegheny County Community College.

The libs can’t win an election without vote fraud.

You allow a voter to get multiple ID’s

The article specifically states that the ID to be issued is a PHOTO ID. It would be an official County document and could only be used legally, therefore safely, by the person whose picture is on it.

This sounds very much to me what the Commonwealth General Assembly had in mind.

The only argument I see is that a uniform statewide standard is preferable, which is probably why Corbett and others object.

So let the state set the standard and order the counties to conform to it. In the meantime let election monitors scrutinize any photo ID presented.

If I read the article correctly, they are having one county owned nursing home in Royersford issue the cards, since it is a county run facility.

And they could issue Photo ID's for people who've died in their nursing home as well, and the Commonwealth has a poor record of purging the rolls.

If the photo of a live person is issued to a dead name, what exactly will clerks and judges of elections (I am one, although not in this county) be able to "scrutinize?"

Nursing homes are run by SEIU. Beginning to understand the problem?

You allow a voter to get multiple ID’s

In away, the multiple ID's make it easier to cheat... because you have documentation of your false identities.

I'm way past beginning to understand. The challenge is to reduce fraud. No thinking person believes it will be completely eliminated.

If the photo of a live person is issued to a dead name, what exactly will clerks and judges of elections (I am one, although not in this county) be able to "scrutinize?"

Look at it this way, how many people under 70 years old will vote illegally using these phony photo IDs. Think about that one for a while.

You have GOT to be kidding.

Giving SEIU workers control over voter ID is like giving Los Zetas control of the FDA. Far from "reducing fraud" this is an open invitation to commit it.

How many people OF ANY AGE would willingly commit vote fraud? Answer: plenty. It's well-documented.

How many people over 70 would be willing to mis-identify themselves as over-70 dead people to cast multiple votes? Answer: No fewer than in any other demographic cohort.

Or are you of the silly opinion that there are no Leftists over 70 years old?

Calm yourself down and read this again:

The only argument I see is that a uniform statewide standard is preferable, which is probably why Corbett and others object.

So let the state set the standard and order the counties to conform to it. In the meantime let election monitors scrutinize any photo ID presented.

That's my opinion on the matter. Now, what do you suggest should be done to address Montgomery County's decision to issue photo ID cards, given Governor Corbett's decision to take no action?

I'm perfectly calm, and I'm glad to see you've retracted your claim that this is anything but an invitation to commit vote fraud by ignoring your reply to my original objection. In your rejoinder, you pretended that the action taken by the commissioners is better than nothing.

No, it isn't. It's a method of rendering the requirement of a law against vote fraud a nullity (or worse) by allowing the premiere perpetrators of vote fraud in the Commonwealth a license to print "voter ID's."

The fact that Corbett has taken no action doesn't change that fact.

But that is a political matter, not a practical one. The practical concern is that election monitors you're placing so much faith in will have nothing to "scrutinize." Republican and third-party lawyers need to be present when these ID's are produced, and have full access to the process. No Judge of Election will be able to challenge fraudulent IDs once issued. Think for a second: How would it even be possible?

The only remedy left is a legal one: to challenge the issuance of a public document by a private party, or, if under public supervision, that does not permit full transparency under PA's sunshine laws.

I’ve retracted nothing, nor have I pretended anything. My words stand as posted.

Of course the law will ultimately decide these matters, up to and including the Voter ID law itself, although at this late date it is highly doubtful that it will do so with any finality before Nov. 6th.

Oh, OK, then you stand by the ridiculous claim that voter fraud in the upper age quartile isn't an issue, as well as the claim that a judge/clerk of elections will be able to examine a photo of the wrong person with a dead man's name on it and somehow "divine" that he is not who he claims to be.

Thanks for the clarification. I sure don't want to put words into your mouth.
