Lady Gaga's NYC Restaurant Slammed By Health Officials After Inspection This Week
The Smoking Gun ^ | October 5, 2012

On top of a series of scathing reviews, the New York City restaurant owned by Lady Gaga and her family this week scored miserably during a Department of Health inspection that found six "critical" violations, including failing to protect food from potential contamination, The Smoking Gun has learned.

The October 2 inspection of Joanne Trattoria on Manhattan's West Side found eight separate sanitary infractions, totaling a whopping 42 violation points.

I know what I speak of - empty paper towel holder, uncovered cup in kitchen, freshly opened can of hash not the right temp, being able to pay for a waiver from having to wear gloves....

Yet rarely do they shut down places that are a real threat to public health. It’s all a power play.

“I moved to NJ from the Midwest for my first job. The week after I moved in there was a big hit on some top mob guys walking out of a restaurant in NYC and hit by machine guns. I suppose lots of folks are on the take in NYC.”

I lived in New Jersey 9 months, just across the river from NYC. In that time 3 major crime bosses were murdered, never mind the lesser ones. I doubt any of that made the news outside the area. I live in Las Vegas now and you can be sure little of the crime here is reported. Can’t scare the tourists.... The majority of the world lives on bribes.

“It’s all a power play.”

And Lady Gaga has lots of money they can line their pockets with.

Friend of mine hadn't been back home to India to see his mother in about 20 years. He prepped his passport for entry ~ big fat brand new $10 bill just inside ~

The fellow at customs stopped him cold ~ handed his passport back unstamped and told him that now that he was a US citizen he needed to put a $20 bill in there ~ that $10 just wasn't enough.

I’m not at all familiar with NYC. Will people still go there just because her name is on it?

On the upper west side, probably, but they have to post the health grades in the windows. My experience in NYC showed me that you steer well clear of the places with 'C' scores and most NY'ers are fairly up to date on reviews - they are like a well followed tabloid there. This place is toast!

Someone didn’t get an adequate pay off. I worked in a newly opened restaurant in New Jersey. Nothing got done without a huge pay off. It was an eye opener for this girl from the Bible Belt.

Winner Winner, Bacteria Free Diner....

Or she is not making large enough donations up and down the local and national DNC Tickets...

I lived in the Philippines for several months and never discovered the real price of a postage stamp. My air freight business went bankrupt because we refused to pay bribes to foreign officials. But then again, I’m from the Bible belt and I don’t check my beliefs and ethics at the door when I leave church.

Here in flyover country we don’t have much of that stuff.

We do have a “Ted Turner Montana Grill” that I take care to avoid.

Most bars and restaurants that local sports figures start up seem to fail pretty quickly, I think they all expect to coast on their name value. Bars and restaurants are a helluva competitive business in the Baraqqi Depression.

An old buddy of mine from Thailand wanted to be free of his father's thumb so he came to the US to study business. He started running short of money but he remembered Midwesterners are serious about religion, so he bought a box of Bibles and started selling them door to door.

He made enough to put himself through college.

I’m in flyover country as well, and wouldn’t have it any other way. I travel a lot for work, but that just reminds me of how much I would despise having to live in any place loaded with moronic libs - coming home is always a breath of fresh air.

Here in flyover country we don’t have much of that stuff.

Depends on what part of "flyover country" you're talking about.

While things have quieted down substantially, for many years, Kansas City was a MAJOR organized crime "hub." If you saw "Casino," that was based on a true story. KC mafia bosses were involved with a number of Las Vegas casinos. And we have a part of town, an entertainment district, now called the "River Market," which back in the 60s and 70s was known as "The River Quay" had a number of mafia related bombings.

After that, the organized crime taskforces pretty much shut down mafia operations in KC.

P.S.

Or should that be spelled Ca Ca rather than CaCa?

Just asking.
