Jobs Report - Theory for the mystery 873,000 household jobs that came out of no where

Posted on 10/05/2012 9:57:20 PM PDT by RY2012

So where did the 873,000 additional household jobs come from? We know they did not come from industry, manufacturing, finance or healthcare.... You know... I wonder...

Does this huge increase in mystery jobs has anything do to with recent amnesty Obama gave to adult children of undocumented workers.... didnt they start filling out their wavers for their "work visas" in the last month or so?

So are the 873k jobs just under the table jobs that have been around for people who are not here legally, or are they a ficton, created by illigal wanting to get a work visa? ....just a theory

No, the 870,000 went out the back door. They have exhausted their benefits so the Govt stopped counting them in the Unemployment number. The simply reduced the over all number to improve the unemployment rate.

I think it stands for preliminary estimate.

I wondered why that pollster called me and asked what jobs I’ve done around the house.

Lies... Nothing but lies and "cooked books" so that the Democrats/Obama can steal the election. Everything coming from thee guys and the duplicitous MSM is nothing but lies. They know it and the American people know it.

EVERYTHING th Communists, Marxists and Socialists want to accomplish in finishing their work of destroying the country from within is totally dependent upon Obama winning the election, they know this and they have been and are going to do everything within their power at all costs to get Obama reelected = lie, cheat, steal, intimidate, EVERYTHING!

Thank you. So we do not have any solid data from the last two months merely preliminary estimates. Is that normal?

Also, if we added 114,000 jobs but the unemployment number went down 456,000 where did the other 342,000 go?

THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION -- SEPTEMBER 2012

The unemployment rate decreased to 7.8 percent in September, and total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 114,000, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Employment increased in health care and in transportation and warehousing but changed little in most other major industries.

Household Survey Data

The unemployment rate declined by 0.3 percentage point to 7.8 percent in September. For the first 8 months of the year, the rate held within a narrow range of 8.1 and 8.3 percent. The number of unemployed persons, at 12.1 million, decreased by 456,000 in September. (See table A-1.)

So where did the 873,000 additional household jobs come from?

A caller to the Larry Elder show today says the drop in the count of people unemployed goes back to July 12 of this year, when Obama gutted the work requirement to qualify for welfare. Prior to that, the welfare recipients had to keep in contact with the state's employment development agency, and be counted as unemployed. They are no longer required to do so, so they don't bother. Consequence: they drop off the rolls of the unemployed. Voila, Obama gets better numbers this month, and will get excellent numbers with the November jobs report, just before the election!

I dont think so, look at the BLS and compare Aug to Sept.

In Aug there was 154.645mil in the workforce, 142.101mil Employed and 12.544mil unemployed.

In Sept, there was 155.063mil in the workforce,142.974mil Employed and 12.008 unemployed.

The pnumber of EMPLOYED people went up by 874k from Aug to Sept, but only 114k was nonfarm...AND the overall workforce grew by over 400k... that cancels the people who dropped out.

If you look at the last reports from bls for, aug & Sept the overall workforce grew by over 400k, the non farm job increase was 114k month to month, yet the number of unemployed shark by close to 900k. So even if 1/2 million dropped out, the overall trend was for a higher % unemployment... If not for the huge spike in household jobs... Where did the come from? They are not payroll jobs so what are they? Did Avon just recruit 800k+ Tupperware sales people?

Where did the come from? They are not payroll jobs so what are they?....How about college kids returning to the libraries, dining rooms and dorm monitor jobs at the colleges. They don’t get paid usually, just comes off tuition, fees, books, etc?

I was thinking about college students too. If they had a job over the summer they quit and went back to school, but are not counted as unemployed. That left some part time jobs open and when they were filled we suddenly had a big increase in hiring. Fun with numbers.
