A month or so ago, I happened to mention that I had purchased some antibiotics to stockpile for long term survival purposes. It’s not, you know, that I believe in popping antibiotics every time I get a sniffle. Nothing could be further from the truth. But a recent situation where I had a very bad tooth abscess that had to go untreated for almost a week convinced me that antibiotics for use in a collapse situation were an important part of my preps. Let me say this: I am not a health care professional nor am I especially qualified on all things health related. On the other hand, I do believe in medical self-care and I do believe in doing my own research. It was during that research that I learned that fish antibiotics are the exact same formula as human antibiotics. WTF? This was not casual research. I went to many sources, looked at bottles, and asked a lot of questions. I came away confident that lacking proper medical facilities, the judicious use of fish and veterinary antibiotics would be safe in a SHTF situation. And the best part about it? They are readily available online at reasonable prices without a prescription.

I never recommend Colloidal Silver as it has the potential of poisoning those who take it improperly. Silver is a heavy metal and the ingestion of any heavy metal is something to avoid.
All this reminds me of the seinfeld episode where Kramer borrowed smuckers the dog who had a cough and took him to the vet to get a prescription for his own cough.
My boss makes that. Instead of coins he bought a piece of silver wire from a jeweler. If you start turning blue you're overdoing it.
My wife is on Lipitor or some generic equivalent, and a thyroid medicine. She skips one pill a week to build up a stockpile in case of a SHTF situation.

Hi Kart.... how long can these be used after the expiration, and, can they be stored in the refrigerator?
This is not about medicine but I have a question:
My front door is metal. It was put on this house when it was built in 1983 - that could mean it’s a stronger metal than metal doors made today. I’ve examined the door as well as I can, and it appears to be two metal sheets, each 1/4 inch thick, and I suppose there is blank space between the two sheets.
My question is, what caliber bullet would it take to go through that door? Would a 38 hollow point do it, or would it take a larger caliber to do it? Since I’m on the inside, I’d like to know what someone outside would have to shoot to go through the door where I would be standing.
I’m sure some of you gun guys know the answer to this question.
I agree. We should be free to decide what medications we want to take. This is part of being a free people.
I have discovered a cure for sore throat or sore gums.
I just put a lot of salt into hot water and gargle then swish it around my teeth. It almost always works. One time it didn’t work and the dr. told me he was surprised that it didn’t.
He then gave me a prescription for a stronger than average anti-biotic.

I am a big collidial silver user, however it doesn’t seem to help with allergies. My naturpath told me to only use abuot a teaspoon a couple times day. Are you sure 1/2 cup is a safe amount?
See article in post #14. Refrigeration will extend the shelf life. Heat, oxygen and Light are your enemies when it comes to shelf life.
Also, what about Apple Cider Vinegar, I heard that is also very good for colds.

If you are suburban or rural, any halfway decent farm supply store should have at least some. (most farm supplies carry powdered tetracycline in bulk, injectible penicillin, and the means to inject it).
Versions of streptomycin, doxycyclin, and some others can often be found at fish stores (aquarium type places).

Another thing you can get at farm stores is tetanus anti-toxin. This is the same stuff the doc would use if you stepped on a nail and went to the doc, he would give you a tetanus shot.

I have “LOST” prescriptions and had to get a duplicate....(thyroid)....so I could get a bit ahead in case of emergency. I don’t know why, when the FEDS tell us to stock up on needed prescriptions that the docs/pharms don’t just allow them.
