A month or so ago, I happened to mention that I had purchased some antibiotics to stockpile for long term survival purposes. It’s not, you know, that I believe in popping antibiotics every time I get a sniffle. Nothing could be further from the truth. But a recent situation where I had a very bad tooth abscess that had to go untreated for almost a week convinced me that antibiotics for use in a collapse situation were an important part of my preps. Let me say this: I am not a health care professional nor am I especially qualified on all things health related. On the other hand, I do believe in medical self-care and I do believe in doing my own research. It was during that research that I learned that fish antibiotics are the exact same formula as human antibiotics. WTF? This was not casual research. I went to many sources, looked at bottles, and asked a lot of questions. I came away confident that lacking proper medical facilities, the judicious use of fish and veterinary antibiotics would be safe in a SHTF situation. And the best part about it? They are readily available online at reasonable prices without a prescription.

The veterinary supply stuff is the exact same antibiotics made by the same companies and meet the same quality standards.

A good friend is a vet. I had a sinus infection, and I bitched that I was gonna have to pay 80 bucks to see my Doc. He gave me a script. Said there was no difference. There was no difference. Same dope! Vets are held to the same strict FDA standards.
I once ordered some from a place in Vanuatu which did not require a prescription.
There was a delay tho they did notify me by email that their supply had run out due to demand for that particular antibiotic. I did eventually get it but they also charged a little more than I was originally told. Not a whole lot more but it did make me decide not to deal with them again.

I've bought and used antibiotics from here for years without a prescription.
An important anti biotic Doxycycline is synthetic Tetracycline. Its however becomes quite toxic when it expires or if stored improperly. It is important to rotate your stock and discard the out of date stuff.
That is true, but those are pretty much the only ones with a definite shelf life, most other if properly store are good for many years.
My doctor gave me scripts for Cipro, said stored in the refrigerator it would keep almost indefinitely. Said it was one of the best broad spectrum to store for this purpose.
He also had me get some prescription antibiotic ointment for use with MRSA infections. That is also now stored in the frig.
And ALWAYS keep a 12 month supply of any essential medicines you have to take. If you have to pay more to get the quantity because insurance will only cover 30 days at a time, tough, spend the money and do it. I have 18 months of my heart meds, and I keep it at that level. Ditto for the wife’s BP meds.
When you get a sore throat the next day it will be because you are detoxifying, not because you are getting sicker.
