“I’m skeptical that the Register is going to regain a semblance of sanity.”

Me either! But we take what we can get. Right!?

Distribution of the Register outside of the Des Moines metro area has become spotty at best in recent years.

By the wording below hey are obviously delusional.

Both President Barack Obama and Governor Romney are superbly qualified. Both are graduates of the Harvard University Law School who have distinguished themselves in government, in public service and in private life. Both are devoted husbands and fathers.

When has Obummer distinguished himself “in government, in public service and in private life”.

He was a do-nothing US senator for two years, and has accomplished nothing of note in public service, except smoking dope while hanging around with male prostitutes.

I would take this endorsement with a grain of salt.

Which assures Romney of at least a tie. Which the House would turn to a win.

By what scenario do you determine a 269-269 tie?

I'm using 270toWin.com, and if they have their electoral votes right, if the swing states go as follows:

Romney: FL, NC, VA, CO, NH, IA, ME-CD2
Obama: NV, MI, PA, WI, OH

then Obama wins, 270 to 268.

I don’t think I’m saying anything most Freepers don’t know, but if Romeny fails to win Ohio, then he must win Wisconsin + either Iowa or New Hampshire. And all three of of these last states appear to be trending Romney’s way.

“Is this the paper where obozo did not want to do the interview on the record?”

As was answered earlier, yes, that’s the one. But...

I guess I’m stoopid for even asking, but what’s the point of giving an “interview” with a newspaper if you’re not going to let it be published?

Here you go!

They said they wouldn't consider Obama's reluctance to address their editorial board on the record when making their endorsement, but I think it pissed them off. Romney was apparently much more open and accommodating.

Good thing if you are Romney. Bad thing if you are obama.

They might as well rename the paper The Des Moines Racist now especially with its hate filled headline: “Mitt Romney offers a fresh economic vision.”

“Put Iowa in the win column. Backup Plan B is starting to fall into place (win without Ohio)”

I know it is stated again and again that a Republican hasn’t won the presidency in modern times without winning Ohio, but this may be the year that breaks that mold.

The reason:
Changing demographics. And there’s gonna be a lot more “changin’” in the years to come, and regrettably, much will not be in our favor...

Better a liberal republican than a radical socialist from Chicago...any day, any time, any place.

The Register's endorsement, while remarkable, doesn't amount to much. They barely cover two central Iowa counties and have shrunk themselves down to the equivalent of a small yap-yap dog.

Bam Bam and Moochelle should buy a retirement home in Benghazi. In fact, they could renovate the embassy. What do you think? He could retire among his friends, the rebels and enjoy the Arab Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall.

I have been dreaming of them wearing orange duds in sunny Guantanamo, Cuba.

Iowa, Colorado, and Nevada makes it 269-269.

This is huge. The endorsement takes a lot of wind out of Obama’s sails here in Iowa. I would contend it will reduce their turnout by several points.
