Pure Vanity: Why Things Have Changed With Blacks and Obama After Tonight
Myself | 10/27/12

Posted on 10/27/2012 10:01:48 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

I just had to come on to FR tonight and post an experience I had this evening in downtown Dallas.

There was a celebration going on with a brand new 5.5 acre park that opened today downtown and there were live bands and fireworks and families and food and drinks...a really nice cold Fall night in Dallas. I would say there was easily 35,000 if not more in attendance.

So what makes tonight so different? Well...it was the communication between black and white families that was taking place. I would hear random conversations coming and going through the night amongst the crowd and we would engage in some of them and here was the fascinating thing that I discovered...blacks have had it with Obama.

I am not talking about what the MSNBC crowd would call "Uncle Tom/Sell Out Blacks" either. I am talking the straight up $10 to $12 an hour wage earners who are not making it at all.

One by one by one by one they either said they were not going to vote because Texas is going Romney anyway and that their families in Arkansas and Louisiana felt the same way. They are not only fiscally worse since Obama took office but they felt that Obama did NOTHING to improve the image of blacks in general.

Read that again.

They felt that Obama did NOTHING to improve the image of blacks in general.

That is pretty powerful stuff.

A large number of really good and hard working folks who were extremely offended by Obama embracing gay marriage, pissing on the military (so many folks have kids in the Army, Navy, and Air Force), and that when he got to the White House he didn't come visit inner cities, that he appointed people who didn't have anything in common with where he claimed he was coming from back in 2008.

My fellow Freepers, I wish you could have seen and heard what I heard tonight with my friends and family. They are staying home. They are not voting period. They were honest that they didn't believe in Romney and said if he does prove that he can turn the economy and jobs situation around and restores our foundation in God back to this country then they will reconsider in 4 years...but as of this year? Barack ain't got their vote and he does not have the vote of their families either.

Common words heard tonight were "He don't care", "He's OK but he ain't gettin' it done", "I am working harder than I ever have and never get to go out and do anything."

The saddest thing was a family of 10..10! Mom and Dad married for 25 years they voted for Reagan, Clinton twice, Gore, Bush, and Obama. They said they have 3 kids who have moved back home now and 2 are getting divorced and they have 2 kids each and that if you asked them 5 years ago if their family and lives would be this destroyed they would never have believed it.

The grandfather/Dad said to me that he owns a lawn/landscaping business and how many people he has had to lay off because people are doing their own lawns more and more now and landscaping is becoming a luxury item even for commercial accounts.

At the end of the day he said everything comes down to the security of having a job and a pay check and his faith and his rights protected and that voting for Obama was a "gesture vote" last time and he won't do it again.

I am just dying to know how many families these stories are being played out in across the nation tonight.

I can say with confidence that Barack Obama is going to lose at least 20 to 25% of the black vote he had last time which can do nothing but put the finishing touches on his epic collapse to come.

I think so too...also think the turnout from college kids is going to be much lower. I base that on conversations with nieces, nephews, friends who have college kids...the kids aren’t feeling it this time. It’s not the “cool thing” to be an Obama voter.

We will have to agree to disagree. I expect the black vote to be close to 08. As a matter of fact it’s being reported that blacks are voting in very large numbers in Florida this weekend. I expect Mitt to win, but not because black folks are sitting at home by the millions. Not going to happen.

I’m guessing just about the same number of blacks are going to come out in 12 for Obama as they did in 08. I don’t see any great movment away from Obama by black voters.

Maybe more black and less Commie would have helped the one.
I blame his white half.

I find this entirely plausible. People have a sense of their own importance. Ohio, Iowa, everywhere, people want to believe that they count. And in the case of this Marxist mulatto, blacks everywhere are likely to lay their claim to having ‘made’ him by now withholding their support and taking him down.

I feel sorry for those who are suffering but they have to man up and admit their mistakes. Obama represented what they wanted and believed in, bigger government, now they will have to admit that it does not work or they will just repeat it with another demagogue.

Take this to the bank: blacks will vote well over 90% for Obama.

If black voter turnout is suppressed, it bodes well for Romney. 90% of less is less.

I’m white and my bro-in-law is black. He is a great guy and someone I can trust my sister (and nephew) with totally.

He voted Obama last time. I understand why he did so. I’m not going to demean him for it, even though we all knew what Obama meant. He is not voting for him this time. I think Obama lost about a 1/4 of black votes to Romney and 1/4 of black turn out.

I have a black (she is African) woman who is observing my class as she trains to become a teacher. She asked me if I was voting Obama. I said “No way.” She said, “Why? Obama will help you as a teacher.” I said “I have 2 or 3 skill sets that would make me twice what I make now. All I want is for Obama not to tell me what to teach, like he is trying to do with Common Core and Race to the Top.” She said, “So you like Romney?” I said “No, he’s pretty mediocre, but I’ll vote for him to slow the use of money that should be going into my family’s mouth that’s being used for other purposes. It’s not all ‘free money’.” She took a pause.

I drive around Chicago all the time for work. It is very odd. There are no obama signs, I mean none. I know they think they have no reason to be concerned in IL, but usually they put them up anyway. I think the turnout may be very, very, low. It would not surprise me if they are caught sleeping in IL.

Thanks for posting your experience.

I prepare taxes and as part of that we have to ask if people want to allocate $3 to the pres. election fund. I thought with Obama many black people would say Yes! but that was wrong. Most people still say No. Most say no, what have they done for me, some say Hell NO! some do say OK, but nobody, black or white or spanish or anything else says YES!

I’m sure Obama will do as well as most Dems do with Black voters, but I don’t think he’ll get the super, super majority he got last time.

(He also may be well screwed with the Jews, I hope he is, he deserves to be.)

But to me the unique failure of Obama, in terms of the black americans has been how he did NOTHING, NOTHING! to at least try and use the bully pulpit to pull the black family off the edge of the abyss.

All Obama ever does with black americans is try to appeal to the lowest element, the whole: trayvon looks like my son stuff. Yet he has never encouraged black men to be like him, to marry their women and be faithful to them, to be good at home fathers to their children.

There are so, so, so many problems in the black community and Obama has made it pretty clear that he couldn’t care less about them.

This post might be a little garbled, but I hope I got my points across.

I sure hope the college age kids aren’t going to vote in the numbers similar to ‘08. He’s given them no reason to vote for him, and you’re right, he’s not cool and it’s not cool to vote for a complete failure.

I have spoken to a couple of black men that I know and they both said that they were not voting for the top of the ticket because they did not like either Obama or Romney.

They were all in for Obama in 2008.

“I am hearing that in Southern California, too”

L.A. blacks IMHO will vote for Odumbo but begrudgingly. Oh, how many times I’ve been on La Brea and Highland and overhear the bruthas’ bitching about the “they ain’t give him some time, man!”. Good thing I have a meeting with development people at “one of the big studios” on November 7 just to see them cry and look miserable.

Maybe 90% of yhe blacks that come out to vote.. But the point is he will not get the huge turnout he did in 2008.

I don’t want them to cry. They’ve been manipulated by the Dems for too long. We need to get them out of government dependency but that means we’ll actually have to talk to them instead of ignoring them.
