The stuff between my ears | 11/21/2012 | Myself

Well, it didn't take long, I just received a call from a Rick Santorum donation Pac. "Are upset by the election results?...So am I...blahh blah , blah.... with Your CASH, We can stop Obama..... we can make history....." Uhh, wasn't that have suppose to happen TWO WEEKS AGO!!!!!!!!! (that was a scream from the roof top). I read another Freerers thread mentioning how the GOP seems to hand out "POTUS Turns" to these guys. It was Bushs turn, then McCain, Then Romney, what now, Santorum? COME ON MAN!! I AM THROUGH WITH GOP!! The next person up for 2016 is gonna have to be an outside the beltaway Plumbers crack simpleton who can do a better job than any of these BOZOS! The best thing these men can do is throw there money at defeating their own GOP washington elites that hold conservatism hostage. This election exposed them for what they are, FOOLS. Fool me once (2008) Shame on you, Fool me twice (2012) shame on ME. The Republican party has HUGE problem on their hands because the 2012 general election just cost them 49.4 % of the votes!!! Hey Rick, Hey Jeb, Hey Marco, Hey Krispy Kreme, GOOD luck trying. Don't waste your time, it aint YOU! (Pissed off, YA THINK!)

President Santorum? One might recall that after the 1960 election, pundits were talking up President Rockefeller. Similarly, it was President Lindsay in 1965, President Connally in 1977, and President Gramm in 1993.

Yeah we could do worse than Santorum, John McCain and Mitt Romney for one.

GOP is on the last legs. Allen West is the main guy I am listening to. Curious what he does now that he lost to fraud. He should man up and run in 2016 and tell all other conservative candidates to bow out pr not to run as he as things taken care of. But I am still unregistering as Republican to Unaffiliated or as it is also known as Independent.

I don’t know and I don’t know who would be our strongest candidate and like I say, there are only two things I do know—that we must get serious about voter fraud and we must all hang together to defeat the Democrat after the primary is over.

I agree with much of what you say but another party is not going to do it--it's not possible. You will still be relying on the exact same people unless you know where to go find new ones.

This is the problem I see on FR, there is a mindset that if Republicans will just do you you say, they will be assured victory. If only it were that simple--it isn't. It does no good to look at things through rose-colored glasses. Frankly, I would not want to follow many Freepers into battle if they were a general because they are far too emotional rather than looking at this problem logically to decide the best path to victory.

The Dems are going to be putting up a young Hispanic politician from San Antonio TX whose radical mother is a member of LaRaza.

WOW, it's flattering to think you think I have that kind of power but you are making a big mistake if you believe this. This is the problem I see here on FR. Stop feeling and start THINKING. Stop, and look at the situation realistically.

There is no virtue in deliberately losing. We have had too many who believed it's more virtuous to allow Obama to be reelected than to vote for Romney. I'll take Romney any day.

BTW, I've never made the plea to moderate and I've never said to avoid the "conservative Palin". You don't want to pay attention to what I said.

I have no clue where we go from here and with whom. I did say I fear Palin will not be a strong candidate but I also admit I am not any more sure she isn't than you're sure she is. If she is our best candidate, that's fine by me.

...and he is an identical twin, so the dems can use that novelty to woo the Facebook crowd.

Well, I can only say that I used to believe as you do about the path to victory. You seem to be stuck on the obvious or at least the Republican path.

The only way out of this mess does seem to be another Revolution - unfortunately, not the nice kind. I agree with you somewhat but you are one of those that continue to think that things will change if you just wait long enough.

This is not about emotion - it is about the Constitution! It seems that way too may folks have forgotten about it or have decided to ignore it.

Really, not sure about the outcome but do see it as those that agree with our Constitution and those that don’t.

Am too old to realize or appreciate the outcome but I do hope that our young have the education and experience to overcome this government excess.

I would have voted for anyone of the Repub candidates, and the same outcome would be an Obama win. don’t ya get it, the Obama machine is living in the 21st century. Axlerod juked them, it was the ultimate con job. He had all of watching the hands. He knew he would win 50.6%.

True, but still, we get nowhere if we don’t win elections. There is no virtue in losing. I want the most conservative, constitutional government I can get and if I get it incrementally, that’s better than losing it incrementally.

This is where reality enters the picture--they don't have the education or experience to overcome this government excess--they're dependent upon it.

I’ve given up on winning elections! If those winning have nothing to do with the values that we need - well, what do we win?

We have become so complacent to those that win that as long as they are our party, we are happy - what a joke! We no longer have any control over “our” party and it shows very well in Washington.

I’d suggest that that we have lost no matter who is elected! What do we do now?

Romney isn’t theory anymore, he is toast, you were wrong and we conservatives were right, the man has been a disaster for the GOP as he shaped two primaries.

Mitt lost an election that couldn’t be lost, but why not, the man is a political loser and always has been.

There is no “virtue” you in you losing just to run someone like Romney who doesn’t even belong in republican politics, much less being the presidential candidate.

Stop feeling and think, feelings is what led you to go to Massachusetts for your candidate, and caused you to lose to Carter’s second term.

The failed liberal governor of Massachusetts with 34% approval and non reelectable, was not the answer to anything republican, and much less conservative.

Read My Lips, “No Retreads!”

Yep! I'm sick of these gutys who think they can wait in the wings until it's their turn. It might have worked for Reagan but it sure hasn't worked for Dole, McCain or Romney.

Another thing: If you haven't governed a state, don't even bother. You're not qualified.

Yes, Romney was a liberal candidate for the Republican party and did not get the Conservative vote (not a shock to most of us).

The problem is that this will continue - even not, they blame the conservatives for the loss. They are blind and will never understand.

I did not support Romney at the caucus but once he became the nominee, I certainly was eager to support him against the most radical, corrupt president, ever.

We always must make the best choice and at that point, the best choice clearly was Romney.

You say I was wrong and you were right. I didn't see you winning the election.

I deal in reality and I'm saying I have no idea where we go from here except we must hang together after the primary and if Palin is the nominee, I will enthusiastically support her. All you have to do is get her the nomination and I will tell you categorically that she has the same chance here in Iowa as anyone else but she's not going to be able to play it coy until the very last minute. If she's going to get in, she needs to do it in a timely fashion.
