Happy Birthday, Vinny!!
Thanks for all the great memories....
A treasure! His acceptance speech to the HOF (IIRC) was one of the humblest, classiest ever.
I really miss him now I am here in TX.
As a Cardinals fan, I tip my hat to Mr. Scully. He’s a real patriot to boot!
Happy Birthday Vinnie!! He is a legend here in LA..Vin and Chick Hearn were two of the greatest in LA..just heard a little while ago that David Courtney(Longtime Angels PA announcer) died last night
I listened to Vin Scully religiously in the 60’s and early 70’s as a young lad in Phoenix, Az.
No ball team in Az. at the time, closest was LA, and with Koufax, Drysdale, Maury Wills, Claude Osteen, Ron Fairly, et.al.
I hid underneath my blanket to muffle the sound of the radio so my parents couldn’t hear, while I was supposed to be asleep, night games, ya know.
Scully was and is still the greatest! Happy Birthday, Vin!
Blessings, bobo
Was born waaay downstate IL, 100mi from St.Louis .. same latitude as Richmond .. many hearts of grey in the 1860s (& 2010s) and many caps of red !
.. in 1965, sitting on my living room couch, listening to the radio with my late dad—I can still hear it now, “two and two to Harvey Kuenn...”
You gave me goose bumps. I was standing in our darkened kitchen listening on the radio.
OH Happy Birthday to Vinnie
