As suggested, since so many freepers have been praying, I am sharing this in the open forum.
So many freepers have been praying for me…for my back issues and my work issues. I finally have an update. I had my surgery on November 14th. I had a job interview on the 7th of November and my surgery for my back one week later. I was hired for the job but with all the background checks etc…it was going to be the 3rd of December before the position could start.
I have had home health nurses, physical therapists and occupational therapists coming by several times a week since I was released on the 17th of November, 2 days later than normal. I have had troubles needing a cane and high doses of pain meds. I have finally been released to drive. My job definitely starts on Monday.
My doctor says I need a brace since I can’t use my cane at work, so today I went to get my brace but was told by the supply complany that my insurance won’t pay for the brace. The brace I need is about $140 as it has the metal and cinches and everything else required to help me accomplish my day. I am sick with tears after driving all the way to town on the last of my gas only to be told I can’t get the brace I need. I would appreciate prayers for forgiveness for any words I might have said that were not Christian in nature and also for the bad thoughts I have towards the company who refused to check with my insurance and instead, checked with their main office who told them it wouldn’t be covered when my insurance said it would be. I am fearful that if I go to work without the brace or the cane, I will give away my body’s weakness and be sent home. I am in need of so many prayers. Please....I couldn’t possibly name them all as only God knows what all I need.
Even beginning the new job, the entire checks for the 6 weeks of work will be going to my landlord as I owe him rent since a year ago last July...so there will still be no funds. God is good...and I just keep praying that this job will lead to another and another until I get one that turns into a full-time, permanent.
Christmas will be family being together, a cake for Jesus’ birthday and dinner. We may get to put up the Christmas tree as part of getting in the spirit.
Oh, prayers please that the wakening of the nerves in my back will not cause too much discomfort in my legs...it is already starting to hurt in the right front thigh and the left lower leg as well as the extreme lower back just below the incision site. I'm the last person to advise anyone about something like this, but, since this is what I'm doing, it's not hypocritical to suggest you also follow Jesus' advice about how to pray by saying the Lord's prayer.
There is one simple part that covers what you are asking for and also lets us in on the secret of how things work:
"Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."
That's the deal. That's a big part of the secret.
For what it's worth, years ago I stumbled upon a book on how to meditate. The author suggested that instead of a mantra, say the Lord's Prayer slowly and methodically as you would a mantra.
The author felt that not only is the meaning of great value, the rhythm, pentameter, wording, etc. was perfect for use as a meditation.
You can also use the individual letters of the Hebrew alphabet, depending on your purpose and intent.
With all the prayers and comfort I am receiving from those prayers, it’s easy to trust in God to see me through this trial!

If the employer,part time, full time, temp whatever detects a back problem(and obviously a serious one ) not disclosed the new hire is history due to deception which no amount of prayers will remedy as this leaves the employer open to all kinds of legal BS.
That has the potential to really screw up chances for any thing else farther down the road especially if this is a small community which was indicated by the response back to my initial posting.
I faked my way through a DOT physical one time,hiding a knee problem. I later re-injured my knee on the job and was given the chance to resign vs get fired for not disclosing and fraud.
I took the offer as they were aware that what I said happened on the job could not cause the amount of damage seen by the MRI on my knee. The deception and aggravation and lying were not worth it.
I learned a good lesson and I was relieved when the ordeal was over as I no longer had to live a lie. The next job I applied for I disclosed the knee and they said thats OK we like your other qualifications and I was there for 4 years and after that again found something better.
I can understand fully the urgency to find employment but living a lie will only cause grief later on.

Laminectomy with two pieces of my spine removed because of Spinal Stinosis—I could hardly leave my bed for 7 months recently.

My surgeon expected me to be in better condition for work than I am. I didn’t fake my way through, I just didn’t mentino that I would be having surgery because my doctor didn’t think it would interfere with my ability to do the job.
