I will laugh at the first kid who takes a dump on the teacher's desk.

This is insane.

How does a seven year old get to be an honor roll?

Boyd Bucks...Carbon Credits...same thing...it is simply takng a human right and turning it into a privilege—if you behave. This child will be ready for the future of the human race under Agenda 21. More than half of all Americans voted for this future. If the child is black or female, then a huge majority of his or her demographic identity group voted for this future.

They published the parent’s name and the age of the child, but not the teacher’s name. How can they publish a story that is incomplete?

Children's bladders are not created equal. Holding it in beyond reasonable comfort especially time after time is not healthy in the least. It promotes UTI’s among other things.

Cross' son, an honor roll student, needed to go to the bathroom, but he sat back down because he didn’t have any Boyd Bucks, his mother said.

The teacher needs to create a Boyd Buck Credit Union where kids can borrow Boyd Bucks off their good behaviour for emergencies like this.

This happened to me when I was a kid ... that is, the teacher wouldn’t let me go ... so several minutes later when we were all up writing at the blackboard I couldn’t hold it any longer and went in the chalk tray. She sent me home with a note to my mother, but she always let me go when I raised my hand after that day. My mother laughed.

When I was in the 4th grade the Kalifornia school I was in had a bathroom stall in the classroom. The teacher told one kid he couldn’t use it because he recently had. He also couldn’t leave his desk to go to the outside bathroom. Well, he REALLY had to go pee, so he unziped his pants and pissed right into the walkway between the desks. I’m pretty sure we all laughed so hard we all had to pee. I remember that teacher being the “you need to learn to hold it” type.

This has been in practice for well over 10 years.

I will never understand it other than the obedience angle someone else brought up.

If you are unable to determine the difference between a kid who abuses the privledge and the one who has to go, you should not be in charge of 2nd graders.

Had to go through a doctor back in the day, for my child who truly had to go, often.

It’s disgusting.

This happened to me as my school would not let you use the bathroom during recess. It was winter, cold as crap, and when the dam broke the 3 inches of snow on the ground didnt help conceal the evidence.

There is no excuse why a small child cannot be allowed to go when they have to go! You aren’t instilling any positive character traits by having a kid wet themselves.

This was done to be when I was a child, also. Needless to say, I didn’t make it. When I told me mother about it, she told me to just get up and go to the bathroom when I had to go. The hell with the hall passes and that nonsense. I never asked again for a pass. I just got up and left when necessary.

Liberalism’s mean streak (humanist amoral authoritarianism) is moving on the public school children and their families via teachers and staff.

Even when public school abuse is confronted by parents, they have no shame. How horrible.

Common sense, compassion and a functioning brain are not a requirement any more for being a teacher.

Bill Cosby should do a monologue on this ...

He used to do one where he said in class, he had to raise one finger for Number 1, two fingers for Number 2 - in case of a tie, Number 2 wins out over Number 1 ...

He also said it was bad enough that the teacher knew he had to do a Number 1 or a Number 2 - the whole class knew it ...

This really caused me to laugh. Those who complain most about there not being any discipline in the public schools were the ones who jumped on this the hardest and without any solution offered. Is it your intention to infer that there should be no rules controlling the classroom and who can and can not be out of their seats disrupting the rest of the class?? This was not a great move by the teacher. It is an indication of an inexperienced teacher who, without doubt, learned a huge lesson, BUT, all that was lost on those who are bloodthirsty for public education teachers professional hemoglobin.
One answer was great. Make them borrow against future earned bucks. A simpler way and probably more effective way is to simply let them go but make them sit in the classroom for an equal amount of time at the start of the next recess. I have two questions. How many of those who posted answers here have ever had long term teaching experience with a class of 20-30 elementary students? Why is is so much easier for you to bare your fangs and attack rather than offer suggestions that have some chance of working in that environment? No matter how much you hate public schools they will still be there when we are all dead and gone.
