Very Interesting. My father was a Greek (Chi Phi) in college. He is a Republican. I was a Gamma Delta Iota (GDI). I am much more of a Libertarian. If the GOP doesn’t make an extreme right turn, they will loss me forever.

Oops, I totally understand it because I personally know of only two or three Greeks that voted for Obama.

I was in a frat at Michigan in the ‘70s. They had a ‘hands off’ policy with the greek system, but we had our own house which was off campus (We also had the best cook in town, but that’s another story). Unless the houses are owned by the college, I don’t see how they can force the greeks to do anything.

The founder of the most LIBERAL paper in our area was a Kappa Alpha. HUGE ‘Dixiecrat’. KA use the Rebel Flag as their symbol.
My mom dated him years ago in college (he was at an ivy league) and used to go to balls with him. He was a flunkee and lived on ‘daddy’s money’.

I think the whole frat-sorority thing should be abolished unless its off campus and not on college land. Of course the whole “student government” thing should be too.
I can’t imagine any National agreeing to this. They’ll fold their chapters before allowing the opposite sex to join. That’s just BS.
I can see them having more libertarian views on social issues ... At least while in college. But they want to be successful in business and life, so yeah, I can see them being or becoming conservatives.
You should’ve seen them coming over to our dorm to do some ‘stompin’’. And this was in the mid-80’s.

oh yea all those Yale republicans...not. This is like a study about coffee being bad for you - or good, depends on the data and soooo many factors to make an honest conclusion.
I hear that many alum are threatening to withhold bequests. That’ll end that.
At my university in Colorado, around 1986, there was a huge crackdown on hazing. However, there was one black fraternity which never integrated into our system. They were very private and small, yet they did open public hazing on campus in broad daylight. No one ever said a thing. (That's back when I was, unknowingly, a dumb liberal and "felt sorry for black people". Gawd, I owe them an apology for those days of ignorance!)
Same here. Kappa Alpha at uni and most..almost all my frat brothers were Republicans and/or NRA members. And everybody hated lis and Dems. Same as you, I was a dumb-sh&t lib, and it was only when I started listening to Limbaugh I got my head straight..plus my brothers introduced me to a .45 S&W. That was it ;)
