Canning, my friend, canning is the key. Almost everything in your freezer can be canned. You can can easily when power is unavailable, and the results of your efforts will be available years after the power is gone

I love canning. I've had a freezer go out on me twice. And with canning things now, I no longer have to worry about that!

2 or three times, I wind up outside in an emergency situation, not wearing pants, and I get a reputation. ;)

If I'm planning on going out, I wear pants. Call me about a fire across the street? I'm not going digging through the dirty clothes for pants.

“I’m not going digging through the dirty clothes for pants.”

Maybe you could keep a clean pair handy?

Redcitizen, see why I said don’t ask what he wears in summer?

Hey, I just put up Christmas lights. The wad of them that hangs from a hook on the front porch.

There's only so much civilization that some men can take. ;)

If there were no women, men would revert to cavemen almost instantly.

How much land do you have? I only have a tiny garden behind my townhouse. Send me a Freepmail to tell me as I don’t know if you have a tiny bit like I do or a good deal more than that.

I'm with Huck Finn on that issue. ;)

Maybe Johnny could keep a clean pair of jeans behind a wall mounted glass cabinet with instructions to “break glass in case of emergency” ?? But of course I could see myself in your shoes in an emergency. I commend you on your helping your neighbor in a crisis.

Marcella, I see what you mean. =)
One time I teased Johnny about his pants were up a flagpole and on fire; not really knowing I was close to the truth.
