Not sure this is going to post correctly, but I was greeted with a blocked site warning for FR from Symantec. Photobucket

If you upgraded lately, the upgrade might have wiped out your ‘approved websites’ list that Norton uses.

There is probably a command in Norton to ‘allow access to this website.’

It is common for regular websites and programs to conflict with some of the virus/security software.

Is anybody else having FR crash on Internet Exploder?

AVG is pitching fits with just about everything, too.

Facebook is a train wreck.

Is the webbernet broke?

D/L and run Malwarebytes - it's free.

I only use IE on special occasions such as when a website/video will not work elsewhere.

I just tried FR via IE9 in Win7. It loaded fine for me.

==

Sometimes previously, when JohnRob put those video links between the main article and comments sections, my IE-based brower went into fits. FR would work fine in Firefox. When JohnRob removed those video links, my IE-based browser worked fine.

My IE-based browser is an old browser called Fastbrowser Pro. It is no longer maintained by its creator. I like it because of some special features. Also it was one of the first tabbed browsers. I primarily use it for FR because FR is heavily text based.

Actually, Symantec is one of the compaines that are extremely hostile towards both conservatives, Jews and Christians. That hostility extends down into the reank and file Symantec employees.

This is the state of the whole of the antivirus industry, except, as far as I know, Avast and Malwarebytes. Anything else, and you’re probably putting an enemy on your computer. And don’t think some of these jokers won’t actually hack you. I’ve seen them do so, and seen them brag about it.

I started using MS Security Essentials on my previous XP desktop and laptop. Other security programs got to be bloated, slow, and conflicted with other programs.

When I finally got a new laptop and desktop with Win7, I went MS Security Essentials on both.

I use a program called Sandboxie to run programs (browsers, mainly) in a security box. Several virus programs had difficulty with Sandboxie, but MS Security Essentials works fine with it.

I’ve got the paid version.

I ran it and it killed some of my ‘phone home apps’ associated with Adobe Photoshop/Acrobat and things have been miserable ever since.

[my ISP said I ‘had a virus’..well yeah, I’m running Windows, aren’t I?]

Gotta update my Adobe/Corel progs manually now.

Stupid ISP techie -insisted- I delete that ‘false positive’ stuff before they’d unlock my email and it turned out that wasn’t the problem at all...:-\

They were the ones who demanded that I run AVG, too.

Saving/exporting/reformatting/reinstalling everything takes me *days* and I’m not in the mood for that right now.

I’ll have to look into that.

The “new & improved” IE is a horror show.

I will never put Norton’s on any computer again. Had nothing but trouble on three different computers it was on.
