A few years ago I started posting an annual pet Christmas/Holiday photo thread. IMHO, this is a good time to look back and be grateful for our furry friends that have joined and left us during the past year. No manger scene is complete without a few critters, so let's see them!!

Our Lucy (RIP) looked JUST like that as a kitten, including the mustache. We debated naming her “Hitler” but compromised with “Lucy.”

These two sisters are our newest girls: Photobucket They came to us last spring. The couple who got them as kittens decided they couldn’t handle the cats with a baby on the way. (Silly, I know!) They gave them to her father, who unfortunately had a rescue dog who didn’t like cats. They also wanted to go outside, but coyotes used to lounge on his deck. We heard about them thru a friend, & took them as they were going to be euthanized. (The father had taken them to the Humane Society to find a new home, but they were only given two weeks.) So now they live with us. Bajka, the long-hair, is absolutely a dear – never fusses about anything. Kali, is her polar opposite – always getting into hissing fits with our other three. Still they’ve adjusted nicely & are good lap cats.

You can't. You have to upload them to a hosting site like photobucket and post from there. It's free.

What’s funny is that they were desperately attached to each for the first few months after their arrival. Always in the same box or curled up close. Now Kali won’t tolerate Bajka at all, & hisses if she even smells her on a blanket where she’s been.

Here is a few pictures of our cats from a couple of Christmas' ago.

The we have a Full Blooded Calico (left) her name is Ambush and the Torbie (right) her name is Lily.

That's Lily with my Sister when she came to visit.

Ambush was given to us as a very young kitten, one my Sisters friends father was going to "rid himself" of those kittens so she gave her to us.

Lily on the other hand was born under our porch to a one of our Neighbors a few months later.

We were going to name Ambush "Precious" but her true nature soon reviled itself and so now has her current name.

Lily was named by a Friend of mine after the lady who's cat had those kittens under our porch.

Odd how some animals react to a fireplace...

...After playing outside in the cold, my Timber (on the left) would come inside and sit upright in front of the fireplace with his head raised as though he was warming his neck. Between his fatigue, the warmth, and I suspect to a lesser degree, the carbon monoxide, you could watch his lids grow heavy and his body sway back and forth until he just collpased in front of the hearth.

My Ranger on the other hand (right side of photo), can not get far enough away from the fireplace the minute you start gathering some wood...

Hi Joe. Piper went into the bedroom where I had boxes of Christmas stuff opened last year and he came walking into the family room with a stuffed Reindeer. He knew he wasn't supposed to have it, lol.
