Are there any serious AK collectors on freerepublic? Ihave a couple nice pieces to list on GB and wondered of anyone could share their thoughts on the items and their history. The fist is my Milled Yugoslavian M70 underfolderthat I had rewelded from an excellent parts kit. The second is an unfired Russian tiger sniper rifle. Any thoughts on what they are worth?

I do believe the general idea of making your own rifle or even a new design is beyond their current skill level in America....

Why would you say that?

Could you point me in the direction of where I could buy an Izhmash-manufactured AK?

Missouri is known as the "show me" state. Here's a good example of component manufacture with simple tools and American know-how:

Show me.

Gunbroker website is a good place to find nice treasures. I picked up a couple nice gems there. They have a nice advanced death feature.

Your mention of the Dragonov sniper rifle brings to mind a funny story. A guy showed up at the 200-yard line of our shooting range with a wicked looking Dragonov. He thought he had something. If looks alone could shoot, it should have been accurate. We walked out to pick up our targets. He peppered his target at 200 yards with no distinct group. Then he looked at the tight 4” cluster of big holes on my target and asked what the heck I was shooting. I said, “Pedersoli replica rolling block .45-70 with peep sight. I cast my own bullets”. He didn’t stay long.

“Izhmash-manufactured AK”... the description at link describes the manufacturing process.
