The Rebel Alliance now seems a little bit less like a galactic Boys Club. The final battle against the Death Star in "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi" (1983) used to have a bit more of a woman's touch as it's been revealed that there were actually three female Rebel pilots taking on TIE Fighters and Star Destroyers as they waited for Han Solo and the gang to blow up the shield generator bunker on Endor (ah, old war stories!). There were three unnamed lady pilots in "Jedi," two of which can be seen in the extras for the Blu-ray release of the original "Star Wars" trilogy. Both of them were A-Wing pilots, with one even getting a line ("Got it," which was actually dubbed by a male actor in post-production) before getting shot down by a TIE Fighter seconds later. The second pilot is, surprisingly, considerably older ... and could now indeed be the inspiration for a new wave of fan fiction (she's a retired Rebel vet who's allowed to come back for one last hurrah against the Empire after being deemed too old for duty during the Battle of Yavin in "A New Hope," perhaps?).

Thankfully, it worked, Campbell said, and she and Turner headed back to Al Jaber Air Base in Kuwait.
Her plane wasnt flying well, but it was flying. Controlling an injured A-10 manually with no hydraulics had been done before, but landing was another matter. Three times a pilot had attempted it. One pilot had been killed when his aircraft crashed on landing. Another pilot survived, but his aircraft was severely damaged when it swerved on and off the runway.
But there was hope from one similar situation: The pilot had landed the A-10 safely.
I love the tagline. Often you don’t need to wait for the argument to go on, they lead right off with it.
How does it feel to have your new thread crapped all over?
Notice how nobody is laughing at the “humor”.
The Lord makes Men Strong. and Women Tough
In the long haul, Tough wins over Strong
Before modern anesthesia and obstetric techniques,
The Mortality Rate of Childbirth was ~ 2-3% per delivery
If Women were not tough, there would be no more people
IMHO, the harder a situation is,
The tougher a Woman becomes,
until, if necessary, they can become Granite.
Women also are the largest voting block for the Democrats. Women can be selfish.
“Make women your equal, they will rule you.”
This happens anyway
But Those who Rule,
are Enslaved to Those who are Ruled
IMHO,
Beauty is a form of POWER
Like all forms of Power,
it can be Used and Misused
My Take...
The great uses of Beauty is in
Kindness, Caring, and Control
Beauty can Control Difficult Situations,
just by being Present
Beauty is a Magnifier for Healing
Like all forms of Power,
Misuse damages both the Wielder, and Others
The Evidence for this is Everywhere
One of my wife’s favorite sayings...
“I have no problem with men making all the decisions and running things.......
as long as we continue to run the men.”
Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)
The Female of the Species
WHEN the Himalayan peasant meets the he-bear in his pride,
He shouts to scare the monster, who will often turn aside.
But the she-bear thus accosted rends the peasant tooth and nail.
For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.
When Nag the basking cobra hears the careless foot of man,
He will sometimes wriggle sideways and avoid it if he can.
But his mate makes no such motion where she camps beside the trail.
For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.
When the early Jesuit fathers preached to Hurons and Choctaws,
They prayed to be delivered from the vengeance of the squaws.
‘Twas the women, not the warriors, turned those stark enthusiasts pale.
For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.
Man’s timid heart is bursting with the things he must not say,
For the Woman that God gave him isn’t his to give away;
But when hunter meets with husbands, each confirms the other’s tale
The female of the species is more deadly than the male.
Man, a bear in most relationsworm and savage otherwise,
Man propounds negotiations, Man accepts the compromise.
Very rarely will he squarely push the logic of a fact
To its ultimate conclusion in unmitigated act.
Fear, or foolishness, impels him, ere he lay the wicked low,
To concede some form of trial even to his fiercest foe.
Mirth obscene diverts his angerDoubt and Pity oft perplex
Him in dealing with an issueto the scandal of The Sex!
But the Woman that God gave him, every fibre of her frame
Proves her launched for one sole issue, armed and engined for the same;
And to serve that single issue, lest the generations fail,
The female of the species must be deadlier than the male.
She who faces Death by torture for each life beneath her breast
May not deal in doubt or pitymust not swerve for fact or jest.
These be purely male diversionsnot in these her honour dwells
She the Other Law we live by, is that Law and nothing else.
She can bring no more to living than the powers that make her great
As the Mother of the Infant and the Mistress of the Mate.
And when Babe and Man are lacking and she strides unclaimed to claim
Her right as femme (and baron), her equipment is the same.
She is wedded to convictionsin default of grosser ties;
Her contentions are her children, Heaven help him who denies!
He will meet no suave discussion, but the instant, white-hot, wild,
Wakened female of the species warring as for spouse and child.
Unprovoked and awful chargeseven so the she-bear fights,
Speech that drips, corrodes, and poisonseven so the cobra bites,
Scientific vivisection of one nerve till it is raw
And the victim writhes in anguishlike the Jesuit with the squaw!
So it comes that Man, the coward, when he gathers to confer
With his fellow-braves in council, dare not leave a place for her
Where, at war with Life and Conscience, he uplifts his erring hands
To some God of Abstract Justicewhich no woman understands.
And Man knows it! Knows, moreover, that the Woman that God gave him
Must command but may not governshall enthral but not enslave him.
And She knows, because She warns him, and Her instincts never fail,
That the Female of Her Species is more deadly than the Male.
Make yer own sandwich!
Arm and train the womenfolk, it’s the manly thing to do.
There was only really one woman in the first three films. I call it the Ridley Scott effect. No wonder Luke was hot for his sister, and Lando hit on her, she was the only woman in that galaxy far far away.
From the article:
“We have a feeling a lot of the Rebellion’s apparent gender discrimination will have dissolved in time for “Episode VII.” “Star Wars” needs women...”
I’m so sick of women feeling the need to force themselves in everywhere. If they aren’t present in what they deem sufficient numbers, the feminist inferiority complex kicks in and it’s “gender discrimination.”
Are you referring to the same Ridley Scott who produced/directed the Alien series? You know, the one with Ripley as the alpha female? As I remember, all the Alien movies had other females in them.
Not only that, but Star Wars DID have another woman in it (Return of the Jedi) in the character of the female leader of the Rebel Fleet aboard the Mon Calamari cruiser where Han Solo, Leia, Luke, Lando, and Chewbacca learned of their roles in the upcoming attack on the not-yet-completed Death Star. This woman (I don't remember her name) gave the speech about the weaknesses of the new Death Star and its defensive shield whose generator was located on Endor. At the end of her lecture, she states "Many Bothan spies died to bring us this information." Remember her?
