A video on YouTube of a Golden Eagle snatching up a toddler turned out to be fake. Students from Montreal's 3-D technology school Centre NAD came forward to take credit for the viral video that appears to show an eagle snatching a toddler in a park.
The video shows a scene where a flying eagle swoops down, picks up a toddler with its talons and travels several feet before dropping the child and flying away.
Students Normand Archambault, Loïc Mireault and Félix Marquis-Poulin made the video in a production simulation workshop class, according to a statement from the school. The eagle and the toddler were created in 3D animation and added to the film, the school said.
The video was uploaded on Tuesday night and has received over 2 million views by late Wednesday.

Next we will probably find out that 'Storage Wars' is faked!
Pretty good...had me fooled.
Did this hoax video instigate any terrorism? Barack Obama needs to get before some cameras and tell us.
Whenever someone points the camera at the ground for most of the video you know it’s faked. Remember the human powered flight hoax? Same technique here, but less subtle.
I recall seeing footage from the Mount Pinatubo eruption in the Philippines, and as Air Force personnel rushed to their cars, the person who had the camera had it pointed at the ground as they ran.
Of course, the terrified breathing as they ran, and the rapid fire repeated pulling on the locked car door handle trying to get it open made it difficult to imagine anything else but panic.
Nothing fake about that, just honest fright without a thought for capturing more video!
figgered as much
Dang. Tricked me again. : )
I read the headline as meaning the child was the one grabbing the eagle.
Yes, it looked real to me too. This may serve as a warning that we now need to watch out in broadcast news coverage for fake video that looks real and could fool people. . . as well as fake news photos known as fauxtography.
Yep!
Making apologies to my snopes addicted contacts as we speak...
