For years, I had an old Craftsman bungalow with a big front porch. I'd sit out front every night with a glass in my hand, enjoying my street, greeting the neighbors as they walked their dogs.

Friends would see me and stop over, sitting in one of the wicker chairs I provided. Pretty soon, there'd be a gathering. I'd put on some music and a bottle would be opened.

Its snowing here right now but we’ve only got about an inch on the ground.

My front porch faces the lake but I can sit on mine any time of the year because its enclosed and consists of sliding glass doors all around.

Our porch time is somewhat limited which causes us to enjoy it all the more. :{)

The writer makes a very good point. If people are outside in the afternoon/evening , it’s out back on the deck while the world passes by in the front.I suppose a porch and a deck will be in my lottery winning remodeling plans

We have a front porch and a back porch but when it is porch weather the mosquitos take it over.
