Chicago experienced its 500th murder of the year on Thursday night, when a 40-year-old man was shot to death in the Austin neighborhood. It was only the second time in the last ten years the city has reached that mark. In 2008, 513 people were murdered.
However, this years violence has attracted unprecedented national attention to Chicago. In October, Diane Sawyer held a town hall meeting at St. Sabinas Church, hosted by Father Michael Pfleger. The killings have earned the city the nickname Chiraq and have been inspired an emerging Chicago rap form known as drill.

Now can anyone guess how many of those 500 people who were murdered, were killed with one of the 120 weapons that Diane Feinstein's "Assault Weapons Ban" would make illegal?
Absolutely ZERO. NONE of the 500 people that were murdered in Chicago would've been any safer with Diane Feinstein's "Assault Weapons Ban" in place.
Further, can you all guess how many of those guns used to murder 500 people in Chicago were LEGALLY OWNED? Considering the murders were committed by GANG-BANGERS the likelihood any of those guns were LEGALLY OWNED is ZERO.
Tell me again how "gun control" works and "saves lives?" (Stupid Liberals!!!)
Chicago is an example of what makes this country great
-—Barack Hussein Obama
Here is the ugly truth about the murder rate in Chicago. If you factor out 3 or 4 particular neighborhoods it drops to nearly zero.

It doesn’t mean a thing. The MSM won’t touch those deaths. Five hundred is not a milestone to be proud of in Obamagabe’s Chicago.
Not sure if the number of neighborhood's is that low, but your point is well taken.
Factor put just the Lawndale and Englewood neighborhoods and it drops by nearly half.
What does it mean? Niggas wid guns be keeping it real, bro. What you be staring at?
Wall it off.... Let them eat each other.... Pick them off as they try to escape...
Shootin’ at for no good reason!?!? They need be dead like any other ignorant murderin’ thug.
Looks like I’m right. The politicians are deliberately and intentionally letting criminals keep their illegal guns all the while doing everything in their power to take guns from honest, law-abiding citizens.
umm, they win free chicken and waffles?
what’s it mean. means the liberal elite’s plans are right on track on ultiple levels.
as in “escape from New York!?)- for some dumb reason
my wife loves that dopey flick.
I cannot find how many people have been wounded by gunfire this year- anybody got a figure?
It means this boy avoids Chicago.
No wonder the nobama’s don’t like to go to their rezko-home-mansion in chi-town.
It means Chicago is a quagmire- its time to pull out.
Austin too
Yep. the city of the big shoulder...holsters.
What the 500th murder means?

500 Dead Democrats!
It means Washington gets to send millions to Chicago for a gun buy back program and lighted basketball courts. Rahmbo takes his cut, filters half to the DNC and the rest goes to 3 or 4 parks... Of course the lights are stolen within a week and sold.
LOL!!! Now that’s funny, I don’t care who you are! And so so correct.
My commuter train goes through Englewood - it looks like a war zone. Seriously, I shake my head wondering how people can live like that.
So Englewood is the highest by itself from what I've seen, I don't know what the neighborhood on the near west side is called --- is that Austin? I'm reading some stats I found via a google search which indicates Englewood and the neighborhood I think is Austin seem to be "battling it out" year over year to see which is the most violent.
Shameful.
Gun prosecutions under Obama down more than 45 percent
Exclude DC, Chicago, LA, Philly, E.St.louis & Baltimore and wed probably have the gun murder rate of Switzerland.
