A local government official in the Netherlands is recommending people save money and resources by peeing in the shower.

Bert Wassink, a council member in the Drenthe municipality of Aa en Hunze, said residents can reduce water consumption by combining shower time with toilet time, DutchNews.nl reported Wednesday.

Wassink made his comments as part of the council's 2013 sustainability initiative, which has saving water as one of its focal points.

The official said peeing in the shower "saves lots of clean water and is good for the environment."

"If you combine showers and peeing, you save a lot of water and money, so why not?" asked Wassink, who said he makes the practice a daily habit.

"Why is peeing in the shower socially unacceptable?"

I guess Bert Wassink doesn't know men like to pee off their back porch. Maybe he also doesn't know men like to write words in the dirt as they pee. Men have some capabilities women don't have.

Many years ago I had no washer/drier and every Wednesday, I filled up the huge claw foot bathtub and did our laundry.

One fill for washing, one fill for rinsing and then everything was hand-wrung and hung to dry outside.

Being more of an outdoorsy type than house-wifey, I was embarrassed by how wildly *happy* I was when we finally got a washer and drier.

I was horrified that I’d become “domesticated”.

;D

Let’s not forget Kramer washing his veggies in the shower and installing a garbage disposal!

Back when I had a pool I hung a sign that stated;

"We don't swim in your toilet.
Please don't pee in our pool."

There are some things for which men simply don’t need instruction or direction. Unless they like the sound of “Eeeyeww!!” they just can’t ever let the wife or girlfriend know.

One saves water because it costs a lot of money to filter and chlorinate.

No, that is pretty cheap. I was raised in a family that built water treatment plants for a living.

Does that mean I have to take a shower everytime I pee?

Just the thought of it has confused the heck out of the cat.

I visited Amsterdamn once for about a week. It rained every afternoon. Not many government office buildings have showers. Perhaps the government officials can open the windows of their lofty offices and let it fly, then tell the populace that it's "raining". After all, it "saves H2O".

They are built on a swamp, by the way. Plenty of water everywhere.

Being of school age into the lower side of twenty something meant to live spartan. You could pick up and go anywhere at the drop of a hat. You owned nothing and nothing owned you. Come and go as you pleased, answering to nobody outside your own convictions..........

Today my kids attend school with housemates with power juicers, yoga mats, WII gaming systems, flat screen TV's, cappuccino makers, bicycles they leave in the living room unused, bread machines, 400 count sheets, clothing to fill an attic, cats, massaging chairs, and more ridiculous nonsense than could be inventoried.

My days of a sleeping bag on the floor, a bar of soap in the shower for you, your hair, and your clothes, and yes...........peeing in the shower, were the times I was the most free.

Didn’t Rahm Emanuel get caught doing this in the congressional gym?
