In a conference call today with a small group of journalists, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said that President Obama was “arrogant and presumptuous” in saying in recent weeks that Israel “doesn’t know what its own best interests are.”
“That’s an arrogant and presumptuous point of view and doesn’t further progress on anything,” the senator said, and he returned to that view throughout the call as he discussed the location of Israel’s capital and Israeli settlements. Paul decried U.S. politicians who display “this flippant and arrogant” attitude about internal Israeli affairs, saying that “no one can really know as much as people in the region” about such matters. “It is not up to the U.S. to dictate” to mayors and West Bank officials where housing goes, Paul added.
Paul said he considers himself more pro-Israel than some pro-Israel audiences because “I’m for an independent, strong Israel that is not a dependent state, not a client state.”

Mr. Paul: Everyone in the world except 51% of Americans (quickly diminishing as people get their first paychecks of the year or their new diminished schedules) knows you don’t need the words “about Israel.”
Rand Paul is the only Republican I’d vote for in 2016.
Among other things, Mr. Paul, among other things and all things, Mr. Paul.
Rand’s stance on Israel (although similar in many statements to Ron’s especially regarding Israel being independent of US influence) seems to start with statements of respect for Israel not end with them.
IOW Ron’s appeal to anti-Israel/Jewish/Zionist groups seemed to be that he STARTED with the US turning its back on Israel -— and his votes reflected that.
it may just be that Rand learned from the Old Man’s mistakes, but Ron never even visited Israel.
Rand has a backbone and 2 round ones of steel. I have not seen him lost for words during TV interviews or look like a dear in the headlights. Kentucky is lucky to have him as their senator. We have to put up with Patty Osama Murray here in WA state.

Rand Paul is highly intelligent, fiercely logical and is not corrupted. He is a statesman and a patriot and his kind is very scarce in this world. Think of the courage it takes to stand nearly alone in that D.C. sewer of cowardly corruption and lust.
