Sen. Rand Paul on Wednesday night announced plans to try to undo parts of President Barack Obamas executive proposals to curb gun violence, saying the president may be developing a king-like complex.
We will nullify anything the president does that smacks of legislation, the Kentucky Republican said on Fox News in reference to 23 actions Obama unveiled earlier in the day. The executive actions range from steps to encourage states to improve information sharing on background checks to directing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to conduct new studies related to gun violence.
Im very concerned about this president, Paul said, before alluding to contentious executive actions taken by President Franklin D. Roosevelt during his record-setting tenure in the White House. Roosevelt served three full terms and part of a fourth. He died in office.
FDR had a little bit of this king complex also. We had to limit FDR finally because he served so many terms that I think he would have ruled in perpetuity, and Im very concerned about this president garnering so much power and arrogance that he thinks he can do whatever he wants, Paul said.

Preach it brother!!!
I’m liking this Rand Paul guy. Very good temperment and has a spine.
I have noticed that in Rand Paul right from the beginning. He is not your typical “get along, make deals, throw me some earmarks” politician.
Don’t just say it. DO IT!
As much as it pains me to say it, W opened this door.
Until 9/11 Executive orders were almost always used to manage the administration of the Executive Office (except for FDR who really thought he was king, may he burn in Hell).
W opened up a whole new kettle of fish when he started firing them out after 9/11. Now, that was special and we had to act quickly. But he DIDN’T SHUT THE DAMN DOOR! He should have rescinded/revoked the XOs that were not immediately needed.
Instead, Pandora’s Box stayed open and more horrors keep emerging. And, ironically, the worst of those horrors was Hope and Change. Hope as we know it will never emerge until the damn box is closed.
This is a Constitutional Crisis. The arrogance of caligula obamus egotust is using his “legal” argument of “a priori tu quoque” (my term: “you did it first”).
I end with this. It used to be that BOTH SIDES lived by the adage: Never get a power you do not wish to be wielded by the opposition (someday).
Now our Republic may die by not honoring that wisdom.

FINALLY, someone in Congress wakes up to what Communist Tyrant B. Hussein Obama has been doing for the past 4 years!
Good man, Rand Paul. The more I look at what he stands for, the more I like the guy. Thank you, Kentucky!
I think we might be looking at the next president of this country. Rand Paul is a horse of a different color and it shows. IF the TEA Party organizes before the ego-p party has a chance to craft their next loser, we can do it. Sarah will help. Huge.
Yeah, I’m beginning to think we have a leader here.
Rand follows in the senate on the heels of Steve Stockman in the HOR. Nice. .)
Were you comatose during the Clinton Administration? You don't remember Paul Begala's famous quote, ""Stroke of the pen, law of the land. Kind of Cool."?
I happened to see his appearance on Hannity.
He doesn’t anticipate many votes. Cowardly Republicans and antagonistic democrats.
Add Allan West to “balance” the ticket to lead us out of the VALLEY OF DEBT AND DESPAIR.
YES!
And Trey Radel of Florida.
IF Rand Paul called for a rally on the Second Amendment in DC the same way Michelle Bachmann did for obamacare, I think he would get an overwhelming response.
I’ve liked Rand Paul ever since I read his budget plan, but unless he can get 50 other Senators to go along with him, this is just big talk.
Bravo, Sen. Paul!
