Opus is an anagram for soup.I remember an old Bloom County cartoon where (IIRC) Opus and Milo were talking about how your name could be an indicator of your lot in life. Milo's anagram was Limo. Opus' was soup. When Milo asked Opus about his last name, Opus said "Bougm". Milo said "Gumbo", much to Opus' dismay.
