Sorry for the loss of your *Pepper*. Those of us who have been in the same situation, have the same hole in our heart that you have tonight. Prayers and positive thoughts your way!

But the best dog is . . . The one that greets you at the door, tail wagging furiously, like you've been gone for a year when you were outside for two minutes.

..I've owned Springers most of my life but never had one as loving as a Lab. I've never seen or heard of a dog as loyal, loving and devoted as my English Springer Spaniel rescue. He lays on my feet while I'm at the computer, crawls in my lap when I sit in my recliner, sleeps next to me in bed, sits in the front seat of the two seater vehicles or the back seat of those with one and goes with me everywhere. Since rescuing him 2 1/2 years ago, I don't believe we've been separated by more than a 100 feet except when I had to have outpatient surgery. He's a real treasure.

Interestingly enough, I read blurb quite a few years ago about a woman who had the hobby of spinning yarn. Faced with an enormous amount of shedding from her dog, she turned it into a positive by spinning the dogs fur. I am pretty sure the dog in question was a collie. A former neighbor of mine here in Alaska had a collie and she did that.

Yes, Springers can be very loving and loyal dogs, however the breed has suffered from some close breeding which has resulted in “Springer rage” in about half the breed. If you get one that suffers they can be a handful. Out of 5 Springers I've had since childhood, 2 suffered from the rage.

I love my Boston Terrier. Not really good for anything but companionship and alerting to strangers approaching.

The sweet baby looking at the camera is my new 3 1/3 week old golden and the girl in the sporty bandana is her 2 year old sister.
We have a lot of love in my house.
