RENO, Nev. (AP) Stewie the Cat, the longest domestic cat in the world at more than 4 feet long from nose to tail, has died. Stewie was surrounded by family when he succumbed to a yearlong battle with cancer Monday evening at his Reno home, owner Robin Hendrickson said Tuesday. He was 8. Awww, poor Stewie, at 8 he was way too young to die. RIP Stewie, you were loved while you were on earth.

We had a huge Maine Coon cat but I never considered measuring him.

He was a beautiful kitty... sorry for the owner’s loss.

Maine Coon they can be huge. Our kids have a couple of them, they’re big, but not as big as that cat. Best thing about the breed, they act like dogs :) They run to greet you at the door, play fetch, shake hands, etc.

I submitted our cat “Smiley” to Guiness as the longest cat. Before I glued some whiskers and a couple of cardboard ears on him, he was an alligator. They almost accepted him, but one of the judges remembered there aren’t any green cats.

Our vet raises Maine Coons and she has several that are official “greeters” and blood donors that live in the office. They are the MOST sweetest and friendly kittehs I have ever known. And they ARE huge! Good thing they have such nice personalities - a mean one could do a lot of damage.
