California is the first place I ever saw wild turkeys that were hit by cars. If the state stupidity standards hold, most of those coyotes probably already fell prey to ACMEtm portable holes...

The hell they can’t fly... I’ve seen them fly fair distances fine. I shot one on the wing with a deer rifle many moons ago (and it was a neck shot, so it didn’t just explode :-)).

Yes, they fly ...not what I'd call *graceful*....but they fly quite well for all that weight....for their purposes [to roost.] :)

I used to work with two turkey hunters. One described elaborate, time-consuming schemes to trap the wily birds. He said the elaborate schemes usually failed because the birds were so smart.
I asked the other guy how he went about his turkey hunting. "You walk right up to them and shoot them" he responded with a laugh. According to the second co-worker, turkeys are too stupid to be afraid of people with guns.

Dang! IT took 39 posts to get to the South Park show.
It was the first thing I though of.
“Oh darling, look. Thanksgiving turkeys. “
