Sewage workers in Scotland say they got a whiff of high-end whiskey after thousands of gallons of the amber liquid accidentally went down a drain.
The Chivas Brothers distillery in Dumbarton dumped the beverage in a mix-up at the plant, the Glasgow (Scotland) Evening News reported Friday.
Sewage workers contacted the water utility after they detected an aroma they weren't accustomed to smelling at the plant.
The distillery called the incident an "accidental loss."

Scotch isn’t whiskey, it’s whisky.

(This is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire; or both)

And then there are probably a few of us who, under the right circumstances, would drink most anything, at least once, just because we dont want to be known as a picky guest when drinking at our friends homes."Why yes indeed, my dear."

My taste in scotch has been transformed by friends who keep taking me away from the highland blends and into the heavier peat or smoke of the Islay brands, especially the southern island products. I once thought Glenlivet was pretty good, then Oban. But, once I sipped a bit of the Lagavulin and Black Bottle I found the others seemed a bit weak or lacking in punch.
